How to Play?
Turn Sequence: Make Sosigs
Take 1 HEAD or BODY card from among the face-up cards or from the deck and place it in your play area to build your Sosigs. Replace each face-up card taken with a card from the deck.
Placing Cards
Place HEAD or BODY cards to build your Sosigs. Placed cards do not have to continue a Sosig in play, but they must be orthogonally adjacent to another card and must not block the formation of other Sosigs.
Sosig cards cannot be rotated or moved once in play.
Finishing Your Sosigs
A finished Sosig must have 2 HEADS and at least 1 BODY. Otherwise, it is considered "Incomplete" or "Invalid" and carries a penalty (see SCORING).
Orders
If, on their turn, a player finishes a Sosig that meets the conditions of an ORDER card, they win that card and replace it with another. It is possible to win several ORDERS in one turn. You cannot win ORDERS for Sosigs finished on previous turns.
If the ORDER won shows a MYSTERY MEAT symbol, take a MYSTERY MEAT card in addition to your ORDER card.
Shape Orders: Make the Sosig shape shown, in any orientation, including flipped.
Length Orders: Make the Sosig length shown (total number of cards).
Mystery Meats
Take a MYSTERY MEAT card when you complete both halves of the symbol on Sosig cards, or when you win an ORDER. It can be played immediately or on a later turn.
Sosig Cards
By default, each HEAD and BODY card is worth 1 point and has a single effect:
- Burnt (Cramée): Overlay this card on one of a player's matching Sosig cards. Those cards will be worth 0 points at scoring. You can still finish a Sosig that has been Burnt and claim an order. Note: this card cannot be played on a Flaky card.
- Flaky (Feuilletée): It is protected from Burnt and Scrontch cards.
- Scrontch: Add this 0-point card to THE END of an opponent's Sosig to make it "Incomplete". It will be worth -2 points at scoring. No card can be played on top of or after a Scrontch: it ends a Sosig. Note: the Scrontch cannot be played after a Flaky card.
- Little Sosig (Petite Sosig): Keep it with your won Orders to get +1 point!
- Cocktail: You get a free turn when you connect 2 Cocktail cards in the same Sosig.
- Spicy (Épicée): +1 point for each Spicy card in Sosigs with at least 2 Spicy cards. The cards must be in the same Sosig to earn the bonus. (E.g. if a Sosig has 2 Spicy cards, gain +2; for 3, gain +3...)
- Natural (Nature): Compare the total number of Natural cards among your Sosigs. Players earn the points even in case of a tie. First: +4 points. Second: +2 points. Ignore this in a 2-player game.
Prizes
At the end of the game, the player or players who met the conditions for the PRIZE get +4 points. In case of a tie, both players get +4 points. Only complete Sosigs count for Prizes.
The other players receive -2 points.
The rulebook's example Prize cards (each 4 / -2) include "Most Sosigs (min. 3 Sosigs)", "Longest Sosig (min. 5 cards)" and "Most folded Sosig (min. 3 folded bodies)".
End of the Game
The game ends when only one card remains in either the HEAD or the BODY deck. When this happens, the turn in which that card is placed is the last turn. Once the card is placed and the player's turn is over, proceed to SCORING.
Scoring
The order of scoring at the end of the game:
- Discard the Invalids: Discard isolated cards or Sosigs that have no HEADS.
- Add up the Sosigs: Count all Sosig cards except Burnt and Scrontch: they are worth 1 point per card (Burnt and Scrontch cards are worth 0 points).
- Add the Bonuses: Add the bonus points on Spicy and Natural cards, if you have any.
- Subtract the Incompletes: -2 points for each Sosig with only 1 HEAD or a Scrontch.
- ORDER points: Add the points shown on the ORDER cards.
- PRIZE points: Add or subtract the points shown on the PRIZE card.
