New Spirits
La Vache (Cow): 1 star + 1 bonus star for each Land tile in your second-largest zone of your panorama.
Phoenix: 1 star + 1 additional star for each of your fireflies (whether or not it is visible from below).
Vipère (Viper) (lightning-bolt icon): 1 star + Immediately take an isolated Land tile from your opponent's panorama and add it to your panorama. If your opponent has no isolated Land tile, the effect is lost.
Renard (Fox) (lightning-bolt icon): 1 star + Your opponent reveals the tiles in their hand. Choose the one they will play on their next turn. They then take their tiles back into hand.
Adding to the Components
- 7 Firefly tokens
- 4 new Spirit tiles
Setup
- Add the 4 Spirit tiles to the tiles of the base game.
- Do not forget the Evil Spirit tile. Its use is now mandatory, but with a new effect.
- Place the Firefly tokens to one side, within reach of the players.
- The rest of the setup is the same as the base game.
During the Game
The big novelty of this expansion is the use of fireflies.
During a single turn, a player may complete several squares in their panorama. In this situation:
- The first square will host a Spirit, following the base rules.
- Each additional square will host a Firefly token.
Evil Spirit
When a player chooses to draw two new Spirits, if the Evil Spirit is present:
- They place it in the opponent's panorama, next to a Land tile (with the same placement rules as if it were a Rainbow tile).
- This location is now forbidden! (When the player hosting the Evil Spirit captures the corresponding Land tile, they remove it from the game.)
- To get rid of the Evil Spirit, the player must host a new Spirit in their panorama. Then choose a Spirit following the base rules, and send the Evil Spirit back to the opponent, next to one of their Land tiles.
- ... and so on.
The Evil Spirit gives no penalty to the player who hosts it at the end of the game.
End of the Game
The game ends in one of two ways:
- The game ends immediately as soon as a player collects their 4th Firefly token. In this case, that player is declared the winner without counting stars.
- If no player obtains 4 fireflies, the game ends, as in the base game, when the draw pile is empty AND neither player can make a capture with the remaining tiles.
Each player counts their points according to the base game rules, with a bonus for certain fireflies:
- Each firefly visible from below (that is, reachable by a path of tiles starting from the bottom row, marked with red numbers) earns a bonus star.
