Card 31

  • Card type: Contract card. The description says to choose which version to add to the Contract deck.
  • Printed number: "31/30" at the bottom of the card face.
  • Printed badge: a yellow tile with the letter "E" at the bottom left. The card does not print what this letter means. It is transcribed as printed and not interpreted as a rule.
  • Choose one version and add it to the Contract deck. The four versions are not used together.
  • Each version has two printed lines, one above the other:
    1. Keep your train. A train icon followed by "=" and a gold victory-point tile with a number.
    2. Trash your train. A train icon with a red X over it, followed by "=" and "+" and one or two steel bars (or steel and dynamite). Below the icons is the printed text "Remove your train from the game and take [resources] from supply."

The base rules describe trains as owned by a player and played from the Engine Shed, so "your train" on this card means the Train card you own.

Version 1 (front value 9)

  • Printed: train = 9 (gold tile).
  • Printed: train with red X = + 2 steel bars.
  • Printed text: "Remove your train from the game and take 2 steel from supply."

Version 2 (front value 8)

  • Printed: train = 8 (gold tile).
  • Printed: train with red X = + 2 steel bars.
  • Printed text: "Remove your train from the game and take 2 steel from supply."

Version 3 (front value 7, with dynamite)

  • Printed: train = 7 (gold tile).
  • Printed: train with red X = + 1 steel bar + 1 yellow dynamite tile.
  • Printed text: "Remove your train from the game and take 1 steel and 1 dynamite from supply."
  • Dynamite is not a resource in the base Snowdonia rulebook. It is part of the Jungfraubahn scenario in the Snowdonia Jungfraubahn / Mount Washington rulebook. The BGG description says: "Do not use the snow/dynamite one unless also playing with dynamite!" Use this version only in a game that has dynamite.

Version 4 (front value 7)

  • Printed: train = 7 (gold tile).
  • Printed: train with red X = + 1 steel bar.
  • Printed text: "Remove your train from the game and take 1 steel from supply."

Rule Text

  • Keep your train: the gold tile value on the front is the number of victory points. The card does not print when they are scored. The BGG description calls this "keep your train for points."
  • Trash your train: remove your Train from the game and take the steel (and dynamite, in Version 3) shown below the train with the red X from supply. Any reference to a Train card on this card is the Train card you own.

Versions

Each version is one contract card. The four versions differ only in the front values and the weather icon on the back.
