Setup
Place Bangor on the Llanberis space and the other Britannia Bridge cards according to the normal rules. Depending on the number of players, one or two Menai Straits cards are placed between Bangor and Llanfair PG. If both are in play, Menai Straits E is placed first, then Menai Straits.
Replace Contract cards 27, 28 and 29 of the base game with the corresponding cards of this scenario.
Shuffle The Dawn Raider in with the other Trains before drawing the Trains (or reserve one of the six Engine Shed places for The Dawn Raider).
Changes
The rules of the base version (Mt. Snowdon) apply, with the following changes:
Players may not move their Surveyor beyond Bangor as long as the Menai Straits card(s) have not yet been turned over by a Build action (or a Build event) and the Britannia Bridge has not yet been completed.
The Britannia Bridge does not count when a Surveyor moves. Surveyors move directly from Bangor to Llanfair PG. When your Surveyor crosses the bridge to Llanfair PG, immediately take a cube from the general supply.
If the bridge is not yet complete, events have the following effects. Build events can build bridge cards. Excavation and track laying ignore the unfinished bridge and continue on the far side, if necessary.
The player who builds a bridge section turns the card over and places an Ownership marker on it. At the end of the game this counts as a completed track.
Once a bridge section has been built, it can be built on like other stations.
Some building sites show track instead of points. These count for the track bonus at the end of the game and not for the build bonus (even when they are built on by a Build action).
No.13 The Dawn Raider
Whenever the event "Outside contractors lay track" occurs, the owner of this Train may instead lay track, provided they have enough Steel Bars. They may lay at most as many track cards as the current Work Rate allows.
Packet Steamer Hibernia
This building site in Holyhead requires seven cubes in any mix of iron ore, stone and coal in total. It does not count for the build bonus at the end of the game.
Contract Cards 28 and 29
To receive the build bonus of these cards, you must have built on all of the stated stations. For card 28 you need only have built part of the Britannia Bridge.
