Components

60 Cards.

Rules

In Sleepy Cats, the players have to match cats from different decks. There are 4 decks, each with different central themes on their cards:

  • Milk
  • Yarn
  • Fish
  • Kibble

Each player chooses a deck with one of the central themes.

Example 1: All the cards have valid matches: they match equal cats with different decks.

Example 2: The cards have invalid matches. Although the cats match their pairs, the decks are repeated. The match between cards 3 and 4 is the only one valid in this example.

Setup

The one who can purr the most like a kitten is the Top Cat!

The Top Cat places one of their cards on the table, at their choice. Next, the other players, one at a time, clockwise, match one of the cards in their hands with a revealed card. To find a match, the player has to look for equal cats from different decks. When you find it, simply put your card on the table, keeping the two equal cats side by side.

As soon as every player has placed a card according to the rules, the initial board is set!

With the board ready, the players must shuffle their decks and put them face down on the table.

Then, at the same time, players draw a card from their deck and the game begins.

Gameplay

Now, hurry and play! Each of you draws a top card from your decks and try to find a match, simultaneously: find equal cats from different decks. To identify a deck, look at their central theme. If a player can't find a match for the card in their hand, they may return it to the bottom of the deck and draw another one. They can always repeat this action!

When a player finds a match and places their card on the board, they must draw a new one from their deck. Then, they continue to play. Find a match for all the cards, quickly!

When a player runs out of cards, they must "meow!" and stop the game. Then, another one checks if all of their cards really match. If everything is right, that player is the winner. If they have a wrong match, the players should check another player's matches (the one with fewer cards) and so on, until a winner is found.

If 2 players have the same number of cards left and all their matches are correct, they share the victory.

Sleepy Cats is a game of agility and wit. Don't fall asleep at the switch, be as fast as a cat and get your victory cuddles!
