55 cards, 8 strings, 1 wooden stand, 40 wisdom tokens

Setup

  1. Shuffle the deck of cards and place them face down in the center of the table. (These ask "what is the size of a..." thing.)
  2. Each player grabs a string to use. Leave the other strings in the box. You will give your answer by sliding the bead to adjust the length.
  3. Place the wooden stand in the center of the table. The stand is used to hang the strings and compare everyone's answers.
  4. Each player starts with a few bits of wisdom. Use the chart to figure out how many tokens each player should take. Return the rest of the wisdom tokens to the box.

Answer the questions well or you'll begin to lose your wisdom. Lose them all and you lose the game.

How to Play

1. What is the size of a...

Flip over the top card of the deck. The number on top of the deck tells you which word to read out loud.

2. Adjust Your String

Set the right distance between the bead and the ring. First slide your bead up to the ring. Then hold the ring and slide the bead down to the length you want. This part is a secret, so don't let the other players see you adjust your string.

3. Hang and Compare

Place the ring of your string on the wooden stand. Now hold the stand sideways in the air and hang all of the strings side by side to compare lengths (shortest to longest).

3. Judgment

Decide together which string is the shortest and which string is the longest. The players with the longest and shortest strings each lose a wisdom token and return it to the box.

If your group agrees that there is a tie for shortest or longest string, all of the tied players lose a wisdom token.

4. New Round

Flip the stand to dump the strings into the middle of the table, so each player can grab their string. Flip over the next card of the deck to get a new question and play another round.

Game End

Keep playing round after round until someone loses their last wisdom token. As soon as that happens the game is over. The player with the most remaining wisdom tokens wins the game! In the case of a tie, all tied players win.

Quick Rules

  1. Flip a card and use the deck to tell you which word to use.
  2. Slide the bead to set the size of your guess.
  3. Hang the strings from the wooden stand and compare them.
  4. The players with the longest and shortest strings each lose a wisdom token.
  5. When someone loses their last token, the game ends and the player(s) with the most wisdom tokens left win!
