Components

  • Game Board (Bottom box and Insert)
  • 2 Bridges
  • 7 Victory Markers
  • 5 Counting Markers
  • 25 Shop Cards
  • 18 Merchant Cards
  • 1 Start Player Marker
  • 35 Tourists (7 of each of 5 colors)
  • 1 Score Pad
  • 1 Cloth Bag

Game Setup

  1. Place the game board (bottom box and insert) in the center of the table so that the long side is close to each player. The row of 7 connected spaces along the long side is called each player's 'street'.
  2. Place the 2 bridges so they connect the 2nd and 6th spaces of both players' streets.
  3. Put all Tourists in the cloth bag and mix well. Then, draw 4 Tourists for each bridge (8 in total) and place them on the 2 bridges. Leave the bag next to the game board.
  4. Make a deck of Shop Cards with the back side facing up, shuffle them well, and place them next to the game board. Place the top 5 cards from this deck in a row, still with the back side up. This is called the 'Shop Card Display'.
  5. Shuffle the Merchant Cards with the back side facing up as well, then place the top 4 cards face up in a row. Remaining Merchant Cards are not used.
  6. Give the starting player marker to the person who most recently crossed a bridge.

Game Progress

Before the Game Starts: Each player selects 1 Merchant Card to keep in front of them. The player without the Start Player Marker selects a Merchant Card first. After selection, the remaining 2 Merchant Cards are not used.

Rounds: The game proceeds for 7 rounds. In each round, starting with the player holding the Start Player Marker, each player takes one turn.

Turn Sequence

1. Select Card

Select 1 Shop Card from the Shop Cards display.

2. Movement Phase

1) Check Icons

Check the icon at the bottom of the selected Shop Card. Check the total number of the same icon visible on your Shop Cards. For example, if it is a cat icon, check how many cat icons are visible on the selected Shop Card and the Shop Cards on your street.

Example: Total of 4 cat icons.

Note: Icons at the bottom of Shop Cards placed on the street are hidden by the box and are not visible. These hidden icons are not used during the game.

2) Move Tourists

A player may select Tourists on the bridges or on their own street. For each icon counted, the player may move 1 Tourist to an adjacent space (1 step). The player cannot move Tourists to the opponent's street. When movement ends, there can be a maximum of 3 Tourists in each space on a street. However, having more Tourists in a single space is temporarily allowed during movement.

Example: 4 moves: 2 for a Blue Tourist, 1 for a Black Tourist, 1 for a Red Tourist.

3. Place Card

Place the selected Shop Card into an empty slot on your street. Insert it between the box and the insert so that the back side of the card faces you, as shown in the picture below.

Round End

Once each player has taken one turn, the round ends. Replenish Shop Cards and Tourists as follows.

  1. Replenish the Shop Cards Display until there are 5.
  2. If there is any bridge with fewer than 4 Tourists, replenish it until there are 4.
  3. Determine Next Round's Start Player: Compare the number of Tourists on both players' streets. The player with fewer Tourists receives the Start Player Marker for the next round. If the numbers are equal, the player currently holding the marker passes it to the opponent.

Note: Unless using a Merchant Card's special ability, do not replenish in the middle of a round.

Game End and Scoring

After 7 rounds, both streets will be filled with Shop Cards. The game ends, and scores are calculated in the following order.

1. Placement of Victory Markers

For each of the 7 pairs of opposing spaces, compare the number of Tourists. Tourists matching the color of the Shop Card count as 2. Place a Victory Marker on the space with the higher number. If tied, no Victory Marker is placed on either space.

Example: 2 vs 3 (the Blue Tourist counts as 2 Tourists because it matches the card color). Victory Marker is placed on the space on the right.

2. Scoring

1) Shop Score

Players receive points according to the scoring conditions written on each of their 7 Shop Cards.

2) Tourist Score

Players receive 5 points for each Victory Marker.

3) Merchant Score

If a player has a Merchant Card that provides additional points, receive points according to its ability.

The player with the highest total score wins. If tied, the player with more Tourists on their street wins. If still tied, it is a draw.
