How to Play

Schweine-Würfeln works like conventional dice, except that pigs are used instead of dice.

Each of any number of players throws the pigs onto the table.

Depending on how the pigs come to rest, the thrower scores points:

  • 10 points if a pig lands on its snout. (Illustrated with the label "10 P".)
  • 5 points if a pig stands on all four legs. (Illustrated with the label "5 P".)
  • 3 points if a pig lies on its back. (Illustrated with the label "3 P".)
  • 1 point for the normal "side position" (the pig lies on its side). (Illustrated with the label "1 P".)

Box-Back Instructions

The following is transcribed from the German "Spielanleitung" printed on the box back of the game. It supplies the number of pigs and the winning condition, which the rules sheet above does not state.

Schweine-Würfeln is played the same way as conventional dice, except that pigs are used instead of dice.

Each of the (any number of) players throws the five pigs onto the table. If a pig lands on its snout (or, more precisely, comes to rest standing on its snout), it scores 10 points. If the pig stands normally on all four legs, the player may credit himself 5 points. If it lies on its back, he receives 3 points, and for a normal side position only 1 point.

The player whose pigs together score the most points wins.
