Contents

  • 4 rabbits
  • 1 carrot stalk
  • 16 cards to mark the path
  • 15 little carrots
  • 2 dice (with 1 to 3 dots each)

Aim of the Game

Who will be able to collect as many carrots as possible?

Preparation

First look at the cards: they are printed on both sides. The pictures on the front have a yellow border, the pictures on the back have an orange border. If you look carefully you will see that each picture is shown once on the front and once on the back of a different card. These cards are used to mark out the path. Later on, the rabbit will move along the path marked by these cards.

Now arrange the cards with the yellow edged fronts face up on a table so that they form a square of 5 x 5 cards. Make a little pile of carrots in the center of the square and get the dice ready. Each player should take a rabbit.

How to Play

You play in a clockwise direction.

Whoever has the smallest nose starts and turns over any of the yellow edged cards which can mark the path. The picture shown has an orange border. This card is now the starting square for all the rabbits. At the same time it indicates where the target is: look at the picture (for example, a snail), search the yellow edged card which carries the same picture (a snail) and place the stalk on it.

The rabbits are placed on the starting card.

Again it's the turn of the player who turned over the card before:

  • Do you want to throw one or both dice? First look at the number of squares your rabbit has to hop along in order to get to the stalk.
  • Make your decision, throw the dice and move your rabbit as many squares as dots are shown on the dice/ on both dice.
  • Your rabbit may hop in either direction, left or right.

Your rabbit lands ...

  • ... on an empty card: it's the turn of the next player in a clockwise direction.
  • ... on a card with one rabbit already standing there: you may immediately throw the dice once again.
  • ... directly on the card with the stalk: as a reward you get a little carrot from the center. At the same time, this card now becomes the starting point for the next round. Turn it around before you place your rabbit on it: on its back there is a new picture with an orange border. Look among the cards with the yellow border for the one which has the same picture and place the stalk on it.

The other rabbits should stay on the cards where they happen to be at the time. The next player then takes the dice and throws it/ them.

A new competition begins.

Attention

If there is a rabbit already sitting on the card where the stalk has to be placed, then it's very lucky, because the corresponding player can immediately take a carrot from the center. Then he or she turns over this card and so marks a new position for the stalk (target).

End of the Game

The game ends when all the carrots have been taken from the center. The player with the largest amount of carrots wins the game.
