60 elements cards, 15 scoring cards, 1 magic eye (for verification) and 1 set of game instructions

Game Setup

Shuffle all the scoring cards and place them face down in a pile off to the side. Pick up one card less than there are players and lay these cards face up in a row next to the pile. Spread out all the elements cards face up in a disorderly fashion across the table. Keep the magic eye within hand's reach.

How to Play

Everyone plays simultaneously over multiple rounds. Each player picks up any random elements card from the middle of the table and places it face up in front of him on the table. Together, call out "Rox!" to start the game.

As quickly as you can, everyone looks for an elements card that can be laid next to the first one (see Laying Cards).

Important: You can only use one hand to look for and retrieve cards from the middle of the table!

Laying Cards

  • First, count the colored symbols (fire, water, earth, air, magic) along the edge of the card in front of you. Which symbol appears most frequently? This symbol must also appear at the center of the stone on the next card that you lay down.
  • Once you have found a matching card, lay it next to the card you first laid down. Now count the colored symbols along the edge of this new card and look for the next card with the matching symbol at the center of the stone.
  • If you realize that the card you have just laid has the wrong symbol, put it back in the middle of the table, face up, and continue looking for a correct card.

Ending a Round and Verifying Cards

Continue laying cards until one player successfully places a sixth card. The player who first lays six cards calls out "Rox" which immediately ends the round.

The player who called out "Rox" then verifies his cards to make sure they all match. To do this, turn over the first card in your row and put the magic eye with the rough side face down, over the back of the card. The symbol that appears in the magic eye must match the symbol that appears at the center of the next card. If the magic eye shows the correct element, turn over the next card and check to see if it also matches the following card. Repeat this procedure as necessary for the remaining cards.

If the magic eye shows a different symbol than shown on the next card, the player's row of cards is incorrect. In this case all following cards are returned back into the middle of the table amongst the other cards.

In turns, everyone checks his own row of cards in the same manner. Whoever has the longest valid row of cards receives the scoring card with the highest value from the row of face-up scoring cards. The player with the second longest valid row of cards receives the second most valuable scoring card, and so on.

Important: To be considered valid and eligible for points, the player must have at least two cards in the row!

Editor's note: the printed sentence reads "put the magic eye eye with the rough side face down"; the doubled word is a typesetting error and is corrected here to "the magic eye".

Multiple Rows of the Same Length

If multiple players share the longest valid row of cards and the player who ended the round by calling out "Rox" is among them, he receives the scoring card with the highest value. Otherwise, the player closest to this player's left receives the highest valued scoring card. If scoring cards are left over at the end of a round, e.g. because multiple players did not have valid rows, place them back into the game box.

New Round

Before starting the next round, mix your elements cards back among the other cards on the table and turn over new scoring cards.

End of the Game

The game is over after five rounds. Count up your points. The player with the most points has won the Druid contest and is crowned victorious. The game can have more than one winner.
