Before the First Game
Carefully remove the 4 super heroes, their capes and the hero headquarters from the tableaus. The small circles and the edges are not required and should be disposed.
Preparation
Place the bottom of the box, with all the slime balls, in the middle, and stand or sit in a circle around it. Each player selects a super hero. Put the cape on your figure, and place your hero on their support. The cape should be as horizontal as possible.
Tip: It's best to play at a table that you can walk around. You can also play around a stool or on the floor.
Place your super hero and matching headquarter in front of you and get the die ready. The box lid and game material is not required and can be set aside.
How to Play
Play in a clockwise direction for multiple hero rounds. In each round there is one super hero who attempts to fly in a complete circuit around the city while simultaneously the other players are trying to prevent this super hero from completing the circuit.
How Does a Hero Circuit Work?
- Super hero: take your super hero in one hand, place one finger of the other hand on your hero headquarters and get ready to go. With the start signal "Watch out! Slime balls!" you take your super hero on a flight around the table and the other players, until you can place a finger back on your hero headquarters.
- Other players: take the dice. With three players each player receives one die, with less players, one player receives multiple dice. Give the starting signal "Watch out! Slime balls!" and the players start rolling the dice. If a player rolls the "Boom" symbol they call out "Boom!" loudly and leave the die with the "Boom" symbol facing up. Players continue to roll until all dice show the "Boom" symbol.
Who Is Faster – the Super Hero or the Other Players?
- Super hero: if you manage to complete your hero circuit, i.e. by placing your finger back on your hero headquarters, before the other players call out "Boom!" three times, then you call out "Stop!" loudly. In this round you won the competition. Take one slime ball as a reward, and place it in one of the gaps on your super hero's cape.
- Other players: if you manage to roll "Boom" and call out "Boom!" three times before the super hero completes their hero circuit, then you won this round. This means that the super hero lost this circuit and must return back to their spot. Additionally this player may not take a slime ball as a reward.
Then the next player, in a clockwise direction, takes their turn and heads off on their hero circuit.
Super Hero Flight
Once you place a slime ball on your super hero cape you fly your next hero circuit with the ball/s delicately balancing on your super hero's cape. You may not hold onto the ball/s.
Slowly you will have more and more slime balls balancing on the cape. If one of the slime balls falls off during the hero circuit you can quickly pick it up and place it back on your cape and continue your circuit.
End of the Game
The speedy competition ends as soon as the first super hero collects 6 slime balls on their cape, thus winning the game. They are the super super hero, and may take a victory lap around the other cheering players.
Little Heroes – Big Heroes
If children of various ages are playing together, the differences can be easily compensated for.
- For smaller children it can be enough for them to spin around in a circle instead of having to do a circuit of all the other players, and/or they need to collect less slime balls.
- With super-fast super heroes the other players only need to roll "Boom" on two or even one of the dice in order to stop the super hero from proceeding on the circuit.
