- These rules
Goal of the Game
Be the first to score 100 points.
Setup
- Take a pen and paper (not included) to keep score.
- Split the cards into decks by colour. Deal each player one colour deck (their own deck of their colour).
- Shuffle your deck and place it in front of you face down. This is now your main deck.
- Take 3 cards from your main deck into the hand you will play with.
- In this game there are no turns, so watch the other players. On the start, attention... Ratuki!
Cards
Each card shows the numbers from 1 to 5 in different ways. Each deck has two "Ratuki" cards. They are used as a substitute for any other card.
How to Play
- Someone shouts "Ratuki!", and chaos begins!
- If you have a 1 in your hand, you may place this card on the table and start a deck. Then take another card from your main deck, so that you always have 3 cards in hand.
- You may add cards from your hand to any of the central decks if the number on your card is one greater or one less than the number on the top card of that deck. For example, on top of a 3 you can place a 4 or a 2.
- As soon as you finish a deck, place a 5 or a Ratuki card on top, shout "Ratuki!", and take those cards. Place them in front of you face up in a separate pile. This will be your winning pile.
- If you have no card in your hand that you can get rid of, you may place a card from your hand next to your main deck in the discard and take another card from the main deck. If the cards in the main deck run out, take the discard and use it as a new main deck.
- So, players play cards one after another, take new cards, and collect finished decks. As soon as one of the players runs out of cards, he shouts "All!". The game ends at this point.
- If nobody can make a move with their card (which may happen by chance), stop the game and count points.
Scoring and Winning
- Count the cards in your winning pile. Each card is 1 point.
- Count the cards in your main deck and discard pile, then subtract that number from the number of cards in your winning pile. You score the points earned in the round. If the result is negative, just write "0" for this round.
- Now shuffle your cards well, split them into decks of one colour, and play again. The first player to reach 100 points or more wins.
If several players reach 100 points in one game, the player with the most points wins.
If two players score the same number of points in one round, it is a tie.
Important: You may play cards with one hand only. It does not matter which hand, the main thing is not to use both at once.
Diagram notes (K = deck, C = discard, B = winnings): Keep your decks separate. Mixed decks confuse the game. In a 3-player game no more than 3 central decks may be on the table at the same time. The number of central decks in the game may not exceed the number of players.
Speed Game
The speed game lasts just one round. The player with the most points at the end of this round is the winner.
Rules to remember:
- Five fingers, three cards: a player is not allowed to have more than 3 cards in hand during the game.
- You may not play with both hands: one hand holds the cards, the other plays. A beginner may be forgiven for breaking this rule.
- One card per turn: a player may place, discard, and move one card once per turn, placing it on any deck, including a central one.
- Number of central decks: the number of central decks in the game may not exceed the number of players.
