Preparations

  • Lay the cards on the table and give each player some answer sheets and one score sheet. Make sure each player has something to write with.
  • Decide who will be the Game Leader for the first round.

First Half of a Round: Write the Explanations!

  • The Game Leader takes the top card and rolls the die to determine a category. If the Game Leader rolls a 6, he or she may choose the category.
  • The Game Leader reads aloud (and spells out if necessary) what is written in that category. The categories are:
CategoryQuestion
Words (Ord)What is the definition of this word?
People (Personer)What is this person known for?
Films (Film)What is this film about, in brief?
Abbreviations (Forkortelser)What does this abbreviation mean?
Laws (Love)Complete this law!
  • Each player writes the word, the letters, or the meaning on his or her answer sheet, and then tries to come up with an explanation, which is also written down. Players must remember to write their initials on the answer sheet.
  • If a player believes he or she knows the correct explanation, he or she writes it down and does not try to make something up.
  • The Game Leader writes the correct explanation on his or her own answer sheet.
  • The Game Leader then collects all the suggestions and checks that the explanations are comprehensible and legible.
  • The Game Leader reads out all the explanations, in random order. The correct explanation, which the Game Leader has written down, is among them. If anyone other than the Game Leader has written the correct explanation, the Game Leader removes it without reading it out. The player who wrote the correct explanation does not take part in the second half of the round, but is awarded points straight away.

Second Half of a Round: Time to Reveal Who Is Right!

  • Now the players, taking turns, state which explanation they believe is correct. The Game Leader writes the player's initials in the scoring box on the answer sheet next to the chosen explanation. The player to the left of the Game Leader begins.
  • There is no restriction on several players guessing the same explanation.
  • The Game Leader continues to note the guesses from all the players.

Calculating Points and Ticking Boxes: The Most Convincing Explanation Is Rewarded!

  • The player who submitted the correct explanation from the start receives 3 points.
  • Players who, during the second half, guess the correct explanation receive 2 points.
  • Each player receives 1 point for each of the other participants who believed his or her explanation.
  • If none of the participants gives the correct explanation or guesses correctly, the Game Leader receives 3 points.

When the points have been determined, the players who have received points tick the corresponding number of boxes on their own score sheet. The order is strictly defined: first, the Game Leader ticks as many boxes as he or she has received points in the round, on his or her score sheet. The player to the left of the Game Leader is the next to tick boxes. Play then continues to the next player clockwise, until everyone who has received points has ticked the boxes on their score sheet.

Note: If a player lands on the "Fuld Af Løgn" logo with his or her last tick, he or she receives a bonus point and may therefore automatically tick the next box on his or her score sheet.

Special Cases

  • A player who has submitted a correct or nearly correct explanation is immediately awarded his or her 3 points and may tick boxes on his or her score sheet straight away.
  • If more than one player submits a correct explanation, play is interrupted and a new card is drawn. These players each receive 3 points.
  • If two or more players submit the same incorrect explanation, play is also interrupted and a new card is drawn. If one or more players have at the same time submitted correct explanations, they all receive their points. The same Game Leader always draws a new card within a round.

New Round

  • When all players have ticked their score sheets, a new round begins. The player to the left of the Game Leader becomes the new Game Leader and starts the round by drawing a new card and rolling the die to determine a category.
  • The Game Leader is only changed once a whole round has been played.

"Good" Definitions

  • The aim has been to achieve as much variety as possible in the explanations for words, people, films, laws and order, and abbreviations, ranging from simple synonyms to long elaborations.
  • Some of the explanations are quite difficult. This is done only to create as many opportunities as possible for intricate and funny explanations.
  • You may use subject-specific details in your explanations if you can. This can be very convincing to the other players.
  • If one of the players has submitted an explanation that the Game Leader does not consider sufficiently complete, he or she may ask for a new definition.

Nearly Correct

  • What counts as nearly correct? This is always a balancing act, but as a general rule the Game Leader should use common sense when judging explanations. It is better to award points for a "correct explanation" once too often than once too seldom. Too narrow an interpretation does not give the right playing enjoyment.

Tips for 3–4 Players

  • When there are only 3–4 players, the Game Leader may invent a false explanation and add it to the correct one and the explanations of the other participants. This allows the Game Leader to take part in the bluffing and increases the number of explanations.

Who Wins Fuld Af Løgn

  • The winner is the player who first reaches the large target square (with the "Fuld Af Løgn" logo). If two or more players reach the target square in the same round, the winner is the player who arrives at the goal first, according to the rules under the heading "Calculating Points and Ticking Boxes". There can only be one winner in Fuld Af Løgn!

Tactic hopes that you and your friends will have some fun times together with Fuld Af Løgn – the game where it is allowed to "lie"!
