How to Win

Collect all 5 unique stations on a coloured line and for the 5 different types of trains, add at least one of each type to your fleet.

or

Add 14 trains to your fleet, including at least one train from each of the 5 types.

Set Up & Rules

Deal 5 cards to each player face down, and put the rest in a pile in the middle. On a player's turn, draw 2 cards from the central deck and place up to 3 cards. You can add Trains to your fleet, add a Station to your collection, play Action Cards in a central Action pile or add them as cash values in your wallet. For faster paced 2 player games, you may want to remove all duplicate station cards.

For a station to count towards a complete set or a train to count towards your fleet, it must be played face up during your turn.

Multiple versions of the same card can be played, and can be used for trading or paying fare charges, but only unique stations count for a complete set.

If you start your turn with 0 cards in your hand, pick up 5 cards before playing.

Who goes first?

The player that goes first is the last person to disembark from a train. After the first game, it's up to you!

Travel Inspector

When using a Travel Inspector Card, you must select one of the colours for which you have played stations. Choose a player to pay the fare based on the number of unique stations you have played for that colour. For all colours, the corresponding fare values are £2, £4, £6, £8 and £10.

A WildCard can act as a replacement for any station of any colour, but does not count towards fare charges.

First Class

Each First Class Upgrade can only be played once and is played alongside a Ticket Inspector Action Card. Playing both cards counts as 2 of the 3 plays in a turn.

Who chooses which cards to take?

When a player has to pay a fare to an opponent, the payer has the choice of which cards to give.

When playing 'Thief on Board', 'Band of Thieves', 'Expert Trainspotter' or 'It's Just Business' Action Cards, the player who played the Action Card has the choice of which cards to steal or swap. You must steal from players in a clockwise direction.

Playing from your hand

All fares must be paid from played cards. Some cards say if they can be played from the hand, with some even possible to play when it is not your turn - 'Toilet Occupied' and 'Transport Police'.

Playing the Inspector Switcheroo card will reverse the fare charge. The first player that used the Ticket Inspector card must now pay the fare amount to the Switcheroo card player.

Paying a fare

A fare can be paid using any played card - Action cards, Train cards, Station cards or a mixture of all. The cash value in the corner shows how much that card is worth when paying a fare.

A station can not go into your wallet, but all stations have a cash value of £2 if needed to pay a fare. That station would then become part of the opponents played station cards in front of them.

You can pay with an amount greater than the requested amount, but change is never given.

Once an Action Card has been added to your wallet as cash, it cannot be changed, even when given to player.

Editor's note: the last sentence is printed this way in the leaflet ("even when given to player"); transcribed as printed, the words "to player" appear to be missing a word such as "another".

I have no more played cards...?

If you run out of cards in front of you, nothing happens. Just hang in there and your luck might turn round!

No more central cards to pick up?

If there are no more cards in the central deck, shuffle and flip over the played action cards pile, and start taking from that pile. This will make each turn more aggressive and speed up the game.
