Can I destroy one of my people to make room for a punk?

Yes — the designer ruled in 2024, and repeated in 2025, that you may destroy one of your people to make space for a punk gained from a junk effect, trait or ability, and the rulebook's v1.2 text covers events, traits, junk and abilities. An earlier 2023 reply saying the option applies only to playing a person is superseded. Punks are people, so a punk can be the one you destroy.
