Gameplay
During the Auction Phase
When a player receives a trader tile, either by winning an auction or by using a god tile, all other players place 1 small cargo crate on their harbor board for each trader tile in their own collection. The player then places the newly acquired tile on the right side of their harbor board.
The player who received the trader tile through an auction or a god tile receives no points for newly received trader tiles, and also none for trader tiles that are already in their collection.
There is no upper limit on how many cargo crates may be on a harbor board. Large cargo crates have a value of 3 and can be exchanged for 3 small cargo crates when needed. In the very unlikely event that the supply of cargo crates runs out during an epoch, use substitute material to keep track of the points.
Example: If two trader tiles are won during a single auction, the player who receives the tiles receives no cargo crates. All other players receive two cargo crates per trader tile in their collection.
The rules sheet illustrates this with two boards: "Active player" (the player who received the tile) and "Other players" (who each receive cargo crates on their harbor boards).
Scoring in the First, Second & Third Epochs
Players receive 1 point per trader tile as well as 1 point per small cargo crate (and 3 points per large cargo crate). At the end of each epoch, all trader tiles are removed from the game, and all cargo crates are returned to the supply so that they are available again in the next epoch.
