Goal of the Game

Whoever scores the most points after four rounds wins the game. If there is a tie, the tied players play one more round to decide it (a "Stechen"). Whoever then has the most points wins.

What's in the Box

  • 240 question cards in 4 categories
  • 4 answer boards
  • 4 wipe-off markers
  • Punch board with 16 joker chips

Setup

Each player receives one answer board and one marker. Choose a player colour and take two 10/0 jokers and two Peek jokers ("Spick-Joker") in that colour.

Sort the question cards by category. Place the four stacks in the middle of the table, question side up, where everyone can see them.

Playing the Game

All players play at the same time. The cards stay on the table throughout the round. In each round, every player answers the top question of each of the four stacks on their answer board. The cards show which diagram you must answer on.

The player who most recently had their birthday reads all four questions in the first round. After each question is read, everyone has time to set their answer in the matching diagram, or to write the answer on the board with the marker. The questions are then evaluated, and you score points for correct answers.

Once everyone has answered every question in the round, each player may use exactly one of their jokers before the first question is evaluated. Decide simultaneously whether to use a joker or not. Each player has four jokers available for the whole game. Used jokers are put back in the box after evaluation.

Step 1: Read the questions and answer them

Are you the one reading aloud? Then read the four questions one after another. Start with the card "From 1 to 50" ("Von 1 bis 50", green). Everyone now moves the slider on the green bar diagram to their estimated number, simultaneously and secretly from the others. When everyone is ready, read the card "Pie Slice" ("Tortenstück", blue). Everyone now sets the pie chart to their estimated percentage.

Next, read the card "In Relation" (pink). Everyone moves their three columns to the estimated position (high, middle, low) at the same time.

The last question is "Intersection" ("Schnittmenge", orange). For this everyone needs their marker: draw symbols into the circles, or into the intersection area.

Step 2: Use jokers

10/0 joker: You are completely sure your answer is right? Then play this joker. Name the category in which you want to use your joker. If you reach a full 5 points in the chosen category, you receive 10 points instead. If you score fewer than 5 points, you get nothing at all for that category.

Peek joker (Spick-Joker): Want to copy someone? Then play this joker. Name another player and the category whose answer you want to use in the evaluation. Place your joker in front of the chosen player. You receive the same number of points as they do, no matter what you answered yourself.

Step 3: Evaluate the answers

Has everyone answered all questions and played their jokers? Then turn over the four cards and compare your answers with the solutions on the back of the cards. Start with the first question. Scoring depends on the diagram, as follows.

Question Types

From 1 to 50 (green): Estimate the Exact Number

For these questions you must decide on a specific number from 1 to 50. Set the slider so that the tab points exactly to your answer. On the back of the card, the solution is shown as a bar; in this example the solution is 32.

Scoring:

  • The tab points exactly at the correct solution: 5 points
  • Your answer is in the dark green area: 3 points
  • Your answer is still in the light green area: 1 point

Pie Slice (blue): Estimate the Share

These questions are about estimating a share. Example: what percentage of Germans believe in ghosts? Turn the pie until the slice points to your answer.

Note: The pie ends at about 96 %. If the solution is higher than you can set, you still score points naturally.

Scoring:

  • Your answer differs by at most 5 %: 5 points
  • Your answer differs by 6–10 %: 3 points
  • Your answer differs by 11–15 %: 1 point

In Relation (pink): Estimate the Proportions

Exact numbers and sizes do not matter here. What matters is only how the individual terms relate to one another. For example, if you sort animals by weight, you push the bar for the heaviest animal to the top and the bar for the lightest to the bottom. The printed examples are three weights (80 kg, 50 kg, 20 kg) and three years (1893, 1954, 2012).

Note: For years, the highest value stands for the oldest event and the lowest value for the most recent event.

Scoring:

  • All three terms estimated correctly: 5 points
  • Only the highest bar is correct: 3 points
  • Only the lowest bar is correct: 1 point

Intersection (orange): Assign Correctly

For these questions you must assign five terms to two categories. Does a term belong to category 1 (yellow) or to category 2 (pink)? Or does it even cover both areas? Then it belongs in the intersection (orange).

Draw the assigned symbols (triangle, circle, square, cloud, sun) into the matching fields.

Scoring: 1 point for each correctly assigned symbol.

Examples from the rulebook:

  • Example 1: 2 points
  • Example 2: 2 points
  • Example 3: 3 points

Entering Points

Write your points for each category in the coloured boxes at the top left of the board. Start on the left with round 1; the points for rounds 2 to 4 follow.

The four coloured boxes on the board are: green for "From 1 to 50", blue for "Pie Slice", pink for "In Relation" and orange for "Intersection".

Next Round

Set the played cards aside and start round 2. The next player reads the top question of each of the four stacks aloud. Everyone answers again in secret, and you evaluate the answers as described above.

End of the Game

The game ends after four rounds. Add up the points from all four rounds and enter the total on your board. Who has moved to the top?

If there is a tie, the tied players play one more round to decide it ("Stechen"). Whoever then has the most points wins the game.
