Objective
Collect the 6 character tokens (one for each category) to win the game.
Number of Players
2 to 6 players.
Start of the Game
Each player chooses a pawn and one of the [6] sectors on the board. Each pawn must be placed on the dark green square marked with a question mark. Turn order is decided by spinning the wheel. The first player to reach the crown begins the game. Play then continues to the right.
Initial Play
The player whose turn it is spins the wheel and answers a question from the category the wheel points to. For example, if the wheel lands on the category "Science," the player to the left of the active player takes a card from that category and reads the question aloud together with the options.
If the active player answers correctly, they advance to the next square to the right and spin the wheel again to answer a new question. If they answer incorrectly, they stay on the square they were on and pass the turn to the player on their right.
Questions
Each question card is marked with a character that corresponds to its category. Each card contains two questions, each with its own answer options. The player who reads the first question keeps the card so that the second question can be used later, when the player to their right next lands on the same category.
Crown
When a player advances onto the "Crown" square, or spins the wheel and lands on "Crown," they may earn a character token. The player then chooses the category of the question to answer.
If the answer is correct, the player receives the character token for that category and places it in the corresponding spot in their sector of the board. They then return to the starting square and repeat the route toward the crown.
If the answer is incorrect, the player does not receive the character token. They return to their starting square and pass the turn to the player on their right.
Important: on the first turn, a player cannot earn more than [2] character tokens. If a player earns [2] character tokens on their first turn, the turn passes to the next player.
Aids
At the start of the game, each player receives [4] aids: Double Chance, Pass, Bomb, and Extra Spin.
In every case, the player must announce that they are using an aid after hearing the question together with its options. The exception is the Extra Spin, which must be announced immediately after spinning the wheel and seeing the category.
- Double Chance: the player may answer the question again if they get it wrong the first time.
- Pass: the player exchanges the question for a different question from the same category.
- Bomb: two of the incorrect options are eliminated.
- Extra Spin: the player spins the wheel again to try to get a different category.
In all cases, the player loses the aid card even if it did not help them answer correctly.
Winning the Game
The first player to collect all 6 character tokens (one of each category) wins the game.
Optional Game Modes
-
Hard mode: players may not use aids at any point in the game.
-
Intermediate mode: players start without aids, but each time they earn a character token they receive [count garbled in source] random aid(s). If no aids remain, the player receives no card.
-
Easy mode: players start with the same aids as in a normal game. If a player has no aids left, they may pass their turn and ask for 1 random aid.
-
Duel: can only be played if there are at least [3] players. A player who reaches the crown may choose to challenge another player to a duel, and the challenged player cannot refuse. Both players must hold at least one character token.
Both players answer a question from the category of the character token that the challenger wants to win. A third player, chosen by the challenger, reads the question and the options aloud. Each player gives their answer in secret.
If the challenger answers correctly and the challenged player does not, the challenger wins the duel and takes the character token from the other player. If the challenger answers incorrectly and the challenged player answers correctly, the challenged player keeps their character token, the challenger loses their own, and the turn passes to the next player.
In case of a tie, the challenged player receives an extra question. If they answer it correctly, they keep their character token, the challenger loses theirs, and the challenger also gives up their turn. If they do not answer it correctly, they must give their character token to the challenger.
