Components

  • 1 Henhouse box (with blue internal structure)
  • 60 Egg tokens (egg side/chick side)
  • 1 Barnyard board (divided into 3 sections)
  • 4 Hen figures
  • 1 Path board (in 3 parts), with the starting spaces, the river and 4 paths

Game Objective

Hatch eggs in this magical henhouse and use your chicks to push your hen all the way to the river. The hen that moves the furthest along the path wins the game!

Setup

  1. Take out all components. Insert the blue structure into the henhouse box, matching the arrows underneath. Note: Flip the blue structure before inserting it. The rooster must be facing the front!
  2. Attach the Barnyard board under the henhouse box as shown.
  3. Assemble the 3 parts of the Path board and place it on the table in front of the henhouse.
  4. Each player chooses a hen and places it on a starting space.
  5. Place all Egg tokens egg-side up within reach of all players, then shuffle them.
  6. The last person who saw a chick starts the game.

Eggs & Chicks

Those sneaky chicks don't always hide in eggs of their own colour! An egg does not necessarily produce a chick of the same colour. You must never look at the chick side of the tokens.

Gameplay

On your turn:

  1. Take 1 Egg token without flipping it.
  2. Place it egg-side up on top of the henhouse.
  3. Gently push it with your finger so it falls into the henhouse.

The Barnyard

The egg will roll down and land in the Barnyard, chick-side up. Important: You may place the egg anywhere on top of the henhouse but you can never be sure where the chick will land!

When the Chick Lands

If there are NOT 2 chicks of the same colour in that section: All good! You now have a choice:

A. Continue

  • Take another Egg token and hatch it the same way.
  • If there are still no matching colours, you may choose again to continue or stop.

B. Stop

  • Take all the chicks from the section where the last chick landed.
  • Place them one by one at the start of the Path board.
  • Use them to push your hen forward.
  • Each chick must end fully inside the path.

If there ARE 2 chicks of the same colour in the same section: Uh-oh... that's a clash!

  • Take ONLY the last chick that was hatched.
  • Place it at the start of the path.
  • Push your hen forward until that chick is fully inside the path.
  • Your turn is over!

End of Turn

After moving your hen using your chicks, your turn ends. All other chicks remain in the Barnyard. Play passes to the next player on your left.

End of the Game

As soon as a hen crosses the river, it triggers the end of the game. All other players take one final turn to try to pass that hen. The hen that is furthest along the Path board wins!

Tie-breaker: If tied, the hen that crossed the river first wins.

Warning: This game must be used only with the Egg tokens provided.
