  • 1 pad (scoring sheets)
  • 2 dice

Also needed (not included): 1 pencil per player.

Setup

Each player receives the same sheet from the pad and places it visibly in front of them. Set out one pencil per player and take the dice out of the box. Let's go!

Course of Play

The person whose birthday was most recent starts by rolling the dice. Then everyone enters the rolled connections into two empty spaces of their own scoring sheet.

Important: The new connections must connect on at least one side to an already existing connection. However, it is not necessary for all connections to connect.

Examples:

If a connection reaches the edge of the sheet, the player wins the corresponding point value (1, 3 or 5 points). The point value is then circled. Afterwards, play continues clockwise with rolling; the result is always entered by all players.

End of the Game and Scoring

The game ends after a maximum of 12 rounds (front side, 5 x 5 boxes) or 14 rounds (back side, 5 x 6 boxes), when all spaces on the sheet are filled. Players who only have empty spaces left, into which no connections lead, may reach their own end of the game earlier. Others may continue playing as long as they can still enter connections.

Each player now adds up the circled point values at the edge of their sheet. The result goes into the box at the bottom right. The player with the most points wins the game.

A maximum of 40 points is possible. Based on this, it is sometimes easier to subtract one's few unconnected point values from the maximum result in order to determine one's score.

Advanced Rule

For connecting all the 1s at the edge, there are 10 bonus points.
