Make Luigi ready to go… and Pino ready to bake!

Before the first game, stick:

  • one padded base on each stand.
  • the Pino label on Pino, the wind-up chef.
  • the dough label on the baking table.
  • the 8 pizza labels on the 4 metal disks (on both sides).
  • both Luigi stickers on the motor scooter and the serving plate on top.

Use the peel to put Luigi together.

Build the town of Rabazza!

Before the first game, put all 10 walls together so that they interlock, and place the baking table in the center. Keep in mind: As the town is being built, 4 districts in 4 colors are formed.

(Illustrated in six steps on the page, 1 to 6.) Both towers are used to lift the town.

Once you have put the town together, you will not take it apart any more. Always hold both towers to lift the town, e.g., when you put it back into the box. Take the cardboard insert out of the box beforehand and throw it away.

Done!

Introductory game

If, to begin with, you want to GET TO KNOW Piazza Rabazza, read the rules on the left side, highlighted in orange. In this case, don't pay attention to the rules on the right side, highlighted in lilac.

… or …

Standard game

If you want to play the challenging STANDARD GAME, read the rules on the right side, highlighted in lilac. In this case, don't pay attention to the rules on the left side, highlighted in orange.

Welcome to Rabazza! I'm going to show you 2 rules right away. Choose whether you want to play the simple or the challenging version. Try out together who is already able to do what, and what is the most fun.

You need to read all the other instructions – they apply in either case.

The resident cards – your orders arrive

Sort all resident cards by the 4 colors and form piles with the cards in each color.

Introductory game: On each pile, you can see the resident on top. The 4 residents lying on top of the piles are currently ordering pizza from you. The orders are there for all of you!

By the way, each of us exists twice here.

Standard game: Draw 3 face-down resident cards of each color. Put them as color-sorted piles face up in front of you. The 4 residents lying on top of these piles are currently ordering pizza from you. These orders are there only for you.

If there are fewer than 4 players, put any excess cards, unseen, back into the game box.

Your OBJECTIVE: Deliver the pizza!

With the help of driver Luigi, you deliver the pizza that has been ordered. To do so, you drive close to the houses – and then the pizza is flying from Luigi's serving plate towards the residents.

Introductory game: Try to deliver 1 pizza per game turn. When you do, you receive this resident's card.

If you have delivered a pizza to each of the 4 town districts by the end of the game, you have collected 4 cards in 4 colors and win the game. This can also be achieved by several players.

Standard game: Try to deliver 4 pizzas per game turn – one to each town district. Discard the cards of the residents you delivered to.

If you have discarded all 12 cards of your residents by the end of the game, you win. This can also be achieved by several players.

The pizzas are about to fly! Are you ready?

This is the town of Rabazza: The town consists of four districts, recognizable by the colors: Yellowgiallo, Redorosso, Bluemazzuro, Greenaverde.

Put the town on its four stands in the middle of the table. Place chef Pino firmly in the hole of the baking table.

These are the resident cards: Each card shows one resident. The color indicates the district he lives in.

Each player gets seated at one side of the town wall. Everybody has his own entrance gate into the town there.

The player who last ate his favorite pizza becomes the starting player. He puts the motor scooter with the baker's peel in front of his entrance gate and keeps the 4 pizzas at hand next to him.

The front and the back of each WALL depict 2 residents doing similar things. As you see one at the front, you find the other in the back.

The 12 wall pairs, with the resident names printed on each card (front / back, colour of the card in brackets):

Your GAME TURN as a pizza delivery boy

The starting player begins. After that, the others will be pizza boys, in turn.

As a pizza boy, you do the following:

  1. Prepare for the ride
  2. Wind up pizza chef Pino
  3. Drive through the town
  4. Deliver pizza
  5. Stop! End the ride
  6. Deliveries correct?! Check it out…

If Piazza Rabazza is new to you, you can first practice the pizza-delivery job. To this end, choose a resident. On the next page (sections 3. and 4.), read how to deliver a pizza to him.

1. Prepare for the ride

Place Luigi in front of your city gate.

Introductory game: At the beginning of the game, place the pile of resident cards in the corresponding color on each corner of the town. The piles remain there for the entire game.

From the 4 cards lying on top of the piles, choose one resident you want to deliver to. Check where in town he lives. If you haven't yet delivered a pizza to his district, you may bring him one.

Example: Giovanni, in Bluemazzuro, wants to get 1 pizza.

Standard game: At the beginning of your game turn, place your pile of resident cards in the corresponding color on each corner of the town.

Then check where in the town the 4 residents who are lying on the top of your 4 piles live. These 4 residents have ordered pizza from you. Try to bring a pizza to all of them.

If, later in the game, you no longer have resident cards in all 4 colors, you may not use all 4 pizzas anymore. If you still have residents in 3 or 2 colors, you may only use 3 or 2 pizzas, respectively. If you have only 1 color left, you use only 1 pizza.

Once you have become truly professional pizza boys, grown-up players – with their big fingers – have to stick to the following rule: Whoever uses only 2 or 1 pizza on his game turn may wind up Pino only with 2 or 1 rotations.

Put the pizzas next to you. Place one of them on Luigi's serving plate.

2. Wind up pizza chef Pino

Wind up pizza chef Pino, until you hear a "click"; then let go of him. Now he kneads dough.

Try out this variant also: Leave chef Pino in the box and wind him up there. This way, you can play without making the town shake.

It gets even easier if you don't wind up chef Pino at all.

3. Drive through the town

Now the town is shaking. Start driving immediately. To this end, grab the peel at its end and move Luigi through your entrance gate. In the town, you move Luigi wherever you want. To leave the town, you may move Luigi only through your town gate.

The motor scooter turns around its own axis if, while driving, you push it against the edges of the gates in the front and the back.

4. Deliver pizza

Steer Luigi directly to a resident who has ordered pizza. Move close to his house. Then, the hungry customer grabs the pizza directly from Luigi's serving plate – smack – and puts it right into his mouth – yummy!

But drive carefully…

Drive past the residents to whom you do not want to bring a pizza. These residents can suddenly grab it – smack – and then the pizza ordered is entirely in the wrong hands!

Never reach into the town with your hand!

…in order that the pizza doesn't drop off Luigi's serving plate onto the floor. If a pizza falls down, Luigi may kick it out of the town, though. If he manages to do this, you may try to deliver this pizza again.

If you have dropped a pizza or if a pizza has been grabbed away from you, you immediately deliver the next one – but this time, do it right…

Standard game: Once you have successfully delivered a pizza, you can immediately deliver the next one to a different district!

To this end, you move Luigi out of the town through your entrance gate, and there you put the next pizza on his serving plate.

5. Stop! End the ride

As soon as wind-up chef Pino comes to a standstill, your delivery ends. Don't keep driving!

Your game turn ends even earlier if…

Introductory game: you have delivered a pizza to a town district that you don't yet have a card of.

Standard game: you don't have any pizza left next to you that you may deliver.

6. Deliveries correct?! Check it out…

Let Pino finish kneading, if he is still rotating. After that, you check how well you have delivered pizzas with Luigi's help.

Introductory game: Have you delivered a pizza that had been ordered by a resident – to a town district that you haven't had a card for yet? Bellissimo! Take that resident's card from the corner of the town and put it face down in front of you.

Attention: You may collect only one card in each color.

Standard game: Check out which residents have ended up with pizzas:

… Have any pizzas been grabbed away? Have any pizzas wound up with residents who hadn't ordered from you? The other players will say "Grazie!" They may look through their piles and discard every card of each resident who got a false delivery.

… Have the pizzas been delivered as ordered? Have the pizzas wound up with residents who are visible on a card at a corner of the town? Grandioso! Put the residents you have delivered to back into the game box.

Does one of the other players have both cards of a resident who has wrongly grabbed a pizza? In this case, he discards both cards!

Pizzas that have been dropped have no significance – but what a pity about the nice pizza!

The next pizza delivery boy

Pass Luigi to the next player; he takes the pizzas for his game turn.

Standard game: Take your remaining resident cards back from the town corners and put them in front of you, until you have your next game turn.

Has everything been delivered?! The END OF THE GAME

Introductory game: Once you have collected one resident card in each color, you keep playing until the player to the right of the starting player has been the pizza delivery boy. All those who now have a resident card in each color win the game.

Standard game: Once you have no resident card left, you keep playing until the player to the right of the starting player has had his turn. All those who now have no resident card left win the game.

Ben fatto! Certainly, there will be pizza delivered again soon!
