- 8 new action postcards (listed below).
- 1 score pad.
Action Postcards
Each postcard below is placed on the board as described. The French name printed on the card is given first, followed by its English translation.
Obélisque de Louxor (Luxor Obelisk)
Immediately place the Luxor Obelisk on a road of your colour.
At the end of the game, each player receives 3 additional points for each building in the same row or column as the obelisk (horizontally and vertically).
The obelisk is not a building.
Hôtel des Invalides (Hotel des Invalides)
Immediately place the Hotel des Invalides on a road of your colour and place a chimney of your colour on it.
Points for the Hotel des Invalides are scored under the normal rules.
At the end of the game, gain 1 additional point for each empty space between this building and the nearest edge of the board.
Quartiers Pauvres (Poor Quarters)
Building attractive buildings in poor districts will make you more popular with the workers.
At the end of the game, gain additional points depending on the number of edges of the game board that your buildings touch:
- 1 point for contact with one edge.
- 2 points for contact with two edges.
- 4 points for contact with three edges.
- 8 points for contact with all edges of the game board.
Notre-Dame de Paris (Notre-Dame Cathedral)
Immediately place a gargoyle token on an opponent's building.
At the end of the game, this building scores points for its owner under the normal rules, but both players may count this building as their own when determining their largest district.
Arc de Triomphe (Triumphal Arch)
Immediately place the arch on the board so that both of its pillars stand on roads of your colour.
The central part may occupy any space, including lamps and roads (of any colour).
The Triumphal Arch does not count as a building and does not score points by itself. However, when determining your largest district, count the spaces it occupies.
Musée du Louvre (Louvre)
Immediately place the Louvre on one of your buildings on the board. This building will house the Louvre's exhibition.
It scores points under the normal rules. At the end of the game, you receive 1 additional point for each empty space adjacent to this building, vertically and horizontally.
Tour Eiffel (Eiffel Tower)
Immediately place the Eiffel Tower in the space between four unoccupied road spaces, each of which has at least one lamp.
Players cannot place anything on road spaces under the Eiffel Tower.
The Eiffel Tower is not a building.
Lamps under the Eiffel Tower score double points. For example, a building of size 3 adjacent to such a lamp scores 6 points instead of 3.
Also, at the end of the game, each player receives 2 additional points for each empty road space of their colour under the Eiffel Tower.
To fulfil the conditions of action postcards (such as Artist or Moulin Rouge), the 4 spaces under the Eiffel Tower count as occupied.
Catacombes de Paris (Catacombs of Paris)
Immediately place a skull token on a road space of your opponent's colour (if available).
At the end of the game, if there is no building on this space, simply remove the skull before the scoring phase.
If your opponent builds a building on this space, place the skull on that building to indicate that it was built over the Catacombs. At the end of the game, this building scores points for your opponent under the normal rules, and you receive half of the points your opponent received for this building (rounding down).
Score Pad
The score pad can be used at the end of the game to count victory points in Paris: La Cité de la Lumière.
- In the first row, record the points for buildings lit by lamps.
- In the second row, record the points for your largest district.
- Record the points for action postcards.
- Subtract the points for unbuilt buildings.
Add up each player's points and record the total in the bottom row.
