24 tiles consisting of 6 characters (president, section manager, etc.) each doing the same 4 tasks (copying, accounting, inventory, answering the phone).
Preparations
Place all tiles with the character side up (task side down) and mix thoroughly. Let each player take one tile for each character. (For two players, each player takes 2 tiles per character.) Place the tiles in front of you. Don't look at the task side. For 3 players, there will be tiles left over, place these back in the box without looking at the task side.
Playing the game
Starting player is the person who left work the latest yesterday. Moving clockwise from the starting player, each player takes his turn. During his turn, each player takes one of two actions:
A) Turn one of the remaining tiles in front of you from the character side to the task side. Now you know the kind of work that you were asked to do. (If this is your first turn, this is the only action you can take.)
B) Consolidate work. From the tiles in front of you with the task side up, you can choose one stack of tiles to put on top of another of your own or another players tile (also turned task side up), if they have either matching characters or matching tasks. If you do this, say “Please handle this too.”
Eventually players will build up stacks of tiles. In each case look at the top tile to match with other tiles. You can never split up a stack into parts – for all purposes it has become one unit represented by the topmost tile. Please note that you can never stack tiles still lying with the character side up – only tiles that have been turned to their task side. If at any point you have turned all your tiles to the task side, but you cannot stack anything to any other player, you will have to pass your turn.
Game end
The game ends when all players have turned all their tiles to the task side and no more stacking can occur. The winner is the player with the fewest total number of tiles in the stacks in front of them. If several players have an equal (and lowest) number of tiles, they share the victory.
If one player can place the last of his tiles on another player's stack, he should say “I'm leaving now” and he will be the immediate winner (since he has no more tiles in front of him). The other players should celebrate him by replying “Good job!”.
