Components

  • 60 Ingredient cards (10 of each type)
  • 18 Bun cards (6 of each type)
  • 3 Storage decks
  • 3 Open Ingredient cards
  • 14 Large Order cards
  • 14 Small Order cards
  • 4 Starting cards

Goal of the Game

Complete orders from the harbour guests to score points. Make sure you provide the ingredients and buns in the correct order, or your guests won't want them. Each completed order earns you coins. The player with the most money wins the game.

Note: Ingredients that do not form a valid bun may not be stacked.

Game Setup

  1. Shuffle the ingredient cards. Create 3 face-down supply stacks (crate side up) and place them next to one another. Turn the top card of each stack face up and place it in front of the supply stacks.
  2. Sort the bun cards and form 3 face-up piles.
  3. Shuffle the large and small orders separately and create a face-down stack of each. Then turn the top 2 cards of each stack face up and place them beside their stack.
  4. Give each player a starting card (see Starting Card).
  5. Choose a starting player.

Quick Gameplay Overview

The starting player begins. Turns proceed clockwise. During your turn, you may perform 1 of 4 available actions. Some harbour guests will reward you with favours once you've helped them. As soon as a player has completed 5 orders, the end of the game is triggered. So don't wait too long to start fulfilling orders!

Taking a Turn

On your turn you must perform 1 of the 4 available actions. In addition, you may perform any number of bonus actions (see Bonus Actions).

You choose one of the following 4 actions:

  • A. Take 1 ingredient
  • B. Rope in (Reserve)
  • C. Exchange a bun
  • D. Clean up

After your action and any bonus actions, check whether you can or want to complete an order (see Completing Orders). Then replenish any open stacks (ingredient cards and order cards) where necessary. The next player to your left then takes their turn.

Option A: Take 1 Ingredient

Choose 1 of the 3 face-up ingredient cards and place it in your bakery. Your bakery consists of a grid of 3×3 cards.

Follow these placement rules:

  • If your bakery is empty, place the card anywhere you like.
  • Otherwise, you must place the ingredient horizontally or vertically adjacent to an existing card in your bakery.
  • You may, if allowed, place an ingredient on top of another ingredient card. This is called making buns.

Note: You may not rearrange cards in your bakery once they are placed.

Making Buns: Some orders require buns. You make a bun by stacking 2 ingredient cards on top of each other. Each of the 3 bun types require a specific combination of 2 ingredient cards, shown at the bottom of the ingredient cards. When you make a bun, show it clearly to the other players. Take the corresponding bun card from the supply (while stocks last) and place it in your bakery at the place of the ingredient cards used to create it. The ingredient cards are discarded.

Note: Ingredients that do not form a valid bun may not be stacked.

Option B: Rope in (Reserve)

You try to win over a customer before anyone else gets a chance to serve them. Choose 1 of the face-up order cards to reserve. You may also reserve the top card of either of the 2 draw piles. Place the reserved card to the left of your bakery. You may reserve a maximum of 2 orders.

Reserved orders may only be completed by you. Reserved orders that are not completed by the end of the game are discarded.

Option C: Exchange a Bun

Return a bun card from your bakery to the supply. Then choose 1 ingredient card from the discard pile. Place this card in your bakery following the rules of action A. If the discard pile is empty, you cannot perform this action.

Option D: Clean Up

You may discard or move 1 or 2 ingredient or bun cards in your bakery:

  • Follow normal placement rules when moving cards.
  • Cards that become isolated due to your movement or discarding may remain where they are.
  • You may also discard reserved orders.

Completing Orders

After performing your action, you may complete 1 order (not mandatory).

An order card shows:

  • A) The harbour guest
  • B) The required items
  • C) A possible bonus action
  • D) The number of coins it awards

You may complete 1 order per turn. The required cards must be placed in the correct sequence and must be adjacent to each other in your bakery.

Place completed orders to the right of your bakery, with the icon on the back facing up so the bonus action is visible.

Ending Your Turn

Replenish any ingredient and order cards.

Important: Always refill ingredient cards from the supply stack above them. If 1 of the 3 supply stacks runs out, shuffle the discard pile and redistribute it into 3 roughly equal stacks. If there are leftover cards in a stack, replenish the stacks from the bottom.

Bonus Actions

Bonus actions may be performed at any moment during your turn. You may perform multiple bonus actions in a single turn. After using a bonus action, flip the card so its icon is face down. This way it is clear which actions you have already used.

  • Extra Rope In (Reserve): Win over a customer early. Take 1 order card and place it in front of you — only you may help this customer later. Follow the rules of Action B. Do not replenish cards between multiple reserve actions.
  • Extra Tentacle: You extend an extra tentacle to grab more ingredients. Take 1 face-up ingredient card.
  • Take From the Supply: Take 1 face-down ingredient card from any of the 3 supply stacks. The back of the card shows which ingredient it is.
  • Starting Card: The starting card grants the player a free Take From the Supply action. You may use this action once. After you have used it, flip the starting card over to show it has been used.

End of the Game

As soon as a player completes 5 orders, the game ends. Finish the round so all players have had an equal number of turns. All players add up the coins shown on their completed orders. Bun cards still in your bakery are worth 1 coin each. The player with the most coins wins. In case of a tie, the player with the most buns still in their bakery wins. Still tied? Then the victory is shared.
