Components

  • 80 color cards in black, red, yellow, green and blue
  • 30 point cards from -4 to +10

Players: 2-6. Age: 8 and up. Duration: about 20 minutes.

Setup

All color cards are shuffled well and spread face down, irregularly, in the middle of the table. At the start of a round each player draws one color card and lays it face up in front of them as the start card of their card row. Further cards are added later to the right.

The point cards are then shuffled and placed ready as a face-down stack. Draw as many of them as there are players and lay them out face up. The points on these cards are to be won in the first round. After each round, new point cards are revealed.

Play

All players act at the same time. Each takes a card from the middle and checks whether it fits into their row. The new card must not match the card last in the row in any criterion. The criteria are the color word, the color, and the number of words.

(Example card: color word = Black, color = Yellow, number = 2.)

If the card fits, it is added and the next card is searched for immediately. A card that does not fit is put back face up in the middle and can be taken again by any player.

Each player tries as quickly as possible to lay out a row of cards from left to right in front of them. The length of the card row depends on the number of players:

  • 2 players: 11 cards
  • 3 players: 10 cards
  • 4 players: 9 cards
  • 5 players: 8 cards
  • 6 players: 7 cards

As soon as a player has the required number of cards laid out in front of them, they call out loudly "Stop!" and thereby end the round. All players must stop searching immediately and scoring takes place (see "Scoring").

The Card Row and Its Criteria

In a row, cards lying next to each other must not match in color word, in color, and in the number of color words.

Example of a correct card row:

Number1343231

Five examples of mistakes:

Example 1:

Scoring

As soon as a player has ended a round with "Stop", every player's row is checked, beginning with the player who ended the round. If a mistake is found, all cards in the row after the mistake are removed, even if everything after it would have been correct. The players in the examples above would thus have seven, two, four, one, three and five cards in front of them.

The player with the longest row without a mistake has won the round and may take the highest of the laid-out point cards; the others follow according to the number of cards they have left.

In case of a tie, the players involved add up the number of color words on all their correct cards. Whoever has the higher sum takes a point card first. If there is again a tie, the player who ended the round is better, or whoever sits closer to that player in clockwise order.

End of the Game

The game ends after five rounds. The players add up their points. Whoever has the most points wins. In case of a tie, whoever has the higher point card wins.
