Game Components - So many colors!
The game consists of 120 cards. Sort the cards by their back design into 4 Sets. Take a Set, containing 30 cards, and shuffle it.
There are 6 different colors in total. The front of each card shows 2 colors: The Frame Color and the Circle Color. In a Set, each combination of Frame and Circle Color is present once.
You can find an overview of all the cards forming a Set at the end of the manual (Moby-Dick, Around the World in 80 Days, The War of the Worlds, Alice in Wonderland, The Adventures of Pinocchio, Don Quixote).
Set-up - Get ready!
Depending on the player count, each player places a different number of cards face up in the center of the table, within reach of all players.
- Two players: One player places 2 cards and the other just 1 card.
- Three players: Every player places 1 card.
- Four players: all players except for one place 1 card.
Independent of the number of players there will always be 3 cards face up in the center, starting the 3 Target Stacks.
Goal of the Game - That's how you win!
You win the game if you place all your cards on the Target Stacks first.
Game Flow I - How does it work?
All players play simultaneously. To start the game, the youngest player gives the signal to begin.
Each player holds their Set face down to start in one hand. With your other hand, flip the top card of your Set and place it on the table in front of you to form your Discard Pile. All cards that follow must at least touch your Discard Pile.
When the Frame Color of your card matches the Circle Color of one of the 3 Target Stacks, you can place this card on top of the corresponding Target Stack.
Gameplay Tip: Think of the Circle Color on the Target Stack cards as potential Bullseyes matching the Frame Color of the card in hand.
Before you can place a card on top of a Target Stack, you must at least touch your Discard Pile with the card.
You can place multiple cards consecutively from your Discard Pile onto the Target Stacks. When you place a card on a Target Stack make sure that you cover the other cards beneath it.
Example: Kathi flips a card with a beige Frame and touches her Discard Pile with it. The Frame Color doesn't match any of the Target Stacks right now. She flips the next card. An orange Frame! It matches the Circle Color of one of the Target Stacks. She places the card quickly on top of it. The newly placed card has a beige Circle Color, so she can immediately place the next card from her Discard Pile onto the Target Stack.
Game Flow II - Continue!
You can take the top card of your Discard Pile back onto your Set face down, to reach the cards beneath it. You can only take the cards back onto your Set one at a time.
If you placed all your cards on your Discard Pile, you can take the entire Pile back into your hand face down and continue to play without shuffling it.
Example: Marie can't place a card but a card beneath in her Discard Pile would match. She takes the top card with the red Frame back onto her Set. The card with the light blue Frame is now on top of her Discard Pile. She places it onto the Target Stack with the light blue Circle.
End of the Game - How many cards do I place?
As soon as a player places the last card of her Set on the Target Stacks, the game ends immediately and she wins. The second place goes to the player with the least cards remaining in her Discard Pile and Set, and so forth.
In a two-player game, the player who placed all but 1 card of her Set wins.
Gameplay Tip: Players may choose to conceal the Frame Color of their final card in hand to prevent opponents from delaying the game end.
Target Stacks - What is important?
If you want to confirm if everyone played flawlessly you can do so after the game by taking a Target Stack face down into your hand and revealing the cards one by one. Should you discover a mistake, check the back design of the card. The player with that Set is immediately disqualified.
Check the two remaining Target Stacks afterwards. If the player who ended the game made a mistake, the player with the least cards remaining in her Discard Pile and her Set wins instead.
Example: The Frame Color of this card doesn't match the Circle Color of the card before. Therefore, Thea loses the game although she placed all her cards first.
In rare cases it can happen that no player is able to place a card anymore. In this case simply end the game early. The player with the least cards remaining in her Discard Pile and her Set wins.
Shuffle the cards of each Set thoroughly before you start the next game. When you start the new Target Stacks, the winner of the last game places the fewest cards in the center.
Color Blindness
We did our best to address the more common forms of color blindness, but there are multiple types. We apologize to anyone who has issues playing the game. If a player can differentiate the colors of all 6 letters of NIMBLE on the box cover, they can play this game.
