Components

  • 1 Italy Map

Setup

Setup the game as usual, with the following changes:

  • Put the Italy Map at the center of the table, instead of the Map from the base game.
  • Put a coin on the step I of the round track in the upper right part of the Map.
  • Put the City tiles, University tiles, Ancient Land tiles, Medicine Income tiles, Bonus tokens and Objective tile in the corresponding spaces on the Map, as usual.

Gameplay

The rules are the same of the base game, with the following changes:

Travel

Every space on the Map, except for the Bonus tokens spaces, shows a Roman numeral. This is related to the round number (in the example on the left, round V).

When, at the end of your Scientist's movement, you place a Travel cube in a space, check that number. If it's the same number of the current round, you immediately receive a bonus. There are different bonuses related to each different space typology:

  • Ancient Land space: You can perform a Basic Action of your choice at value 1.
  • University space: Receive 3 Victory Points.
  • City space: Receive 2 coins.
  • Objective space: Receive 4 Victory Points.
  • Master space: Receive 1 potion.

End Round Phase

Carry out the end round phase as usual, then move the coin to the next step of the round track on the Map.
