Setup

Printed on the Setup card:

At the end of Nemesis: Retaliation game setup:

1. Shuffle and place the Exertion deck nearby.
2. In each Character's board, place 1 Exertion marker (Universal marker) in the left-most slot of the Heavily Injured section (it may be placed on top of the Armor Item).
3. Flip this card to see the rules.

Rules

Printed on the Rules card:

When a Character's Health marker reaches the Exertion marker for the first time, they discard the Exertion marker, draw 2 random cards from the Exertion deck, and pick 1 of them, shuffling the other one back into the Exertion deck.

Keep the chosen card nearby. Do not reveal either card to other Characters.

The drawn Exertion card may be revealed and used during any of that Character's Turns, as an Action (without discarding any other cards).

To use the card the Character must pay the described cost. The cost in Oxygen ([icon]) cannot be paid if it would result in the Character's Oxygen Counter going below "0".

After using the Exertion card, remove it from the game.

Exertion Cards

Every Exertion card carries the same printed banner at the top: "You may resolve this card as an Action (without discarding any additional [Action icon]). Remove this card from the game afterward."

The deck contains eight cards (five different names). The photograph shows two copies of Adrenaline Rush, two of Oxygen Tank Explosion, two of Last Stand, and one each of Catch a Breath and Frantic Search.

Adrenaline Rush (2 cards)

Spend 1 Oxygen to draw 3 [Action icon] cards.

Oxygen Tank Explosion (2 cards)

Set your Oxygen to "0" to deal [icon] to all [icon] in an adjacent Corridor.

Last Stand (2 cards)

Spend 1 Oxygen to Repel all [icon] from your Room.

Catch a Breath (1 card)

Gain 3 Oxygen.

Frantic Search (1 card)

Spend 1 Oxygen to draw 3 Items from 1 Item deck of your choice. You may keep 2 of them and discard the rest.

• No publisher rulebook or PDF exists for this promo. The text was transcribed from three photographs: the Rules card, the Setup card, and a photograph of the eight Exertion cards. The card-face text in the photograph is small; the banner and effect lines were read at enlargement and are legible.
• The icons in the Oxygen Tank Explosion and Last Stand effects, and the Action icon in the banner, could not be identified with certainty from the photograph and are shown as [icon] or [Action icon]. The Adrenaline Rush draw icon was read as the Action-card symbol. Check these against a physical copy before relying on them.
