Does the Pilot's Quest Item work outside escaping with the Rover?
The card text is quoted by one owner and another player is unsure; no official ruling.

Apparently not. A German-edition owner reports that the card ties both effects to escaping with the Rover: the Rover leaves the game and the Contingency check is skipped. Another player plays it the same way but admits doubt. No source covers walking to the Bunker or Isolation Room.
