On the Mars Surface, are Crossroads always in Darkness, and can I use Careful Movement or place Doors?

Crossroads are always in Darkness, and you can use Careful Movement onto Crossroads and along Paths. Doors cannot be placed on Paths, even by Items or Exploration tokens. Buildings belong to the Sections their outline colour matches and count as part of the Facility, so Autodestruction kills everything inside.
