You can Drop anything for free on your turn. Heavy Objects (Eggs, Corpses, Carcasses) stay in the Room. Items return to the bottom of their deck, which in practice means you lose them. Posters describing dropped Items as removed from the game are close to this, but the rulebook puts them at the bottom of the deck.
