How does "discover an Intruder Weakness" work with Carnomorphs, and can I analyze before an Adaptation is revealed?

Discovering a Weakness means discarding a revealed Carnomorph Adaptation card, which you do by analyzing a Character Corpse, Intruder Carcass or Egg in the Laboratory as in the base game (each Adaptation matches one Object). You cannot analyze an Object while no Adaptation card is revealed, since there is nothing to discard. A revealed Adaptation applies to all Carnomorphs, not one type.
