Contents: 46 pieces in two colours (red and blue), 1 game board.
Players: 2
Object of the game: The players try to occupy the enemy headquarters (Waterloo or Mon Plaisir) with two of their pieces.
This Is How It Is Played
The pieces are placed on the coloured squares of the board. Blue has the first move.
Pieces may move in all directions: diagonally, sideways, forward and backward, but always only one square at a time.
A piece may jump over any number of its own pieces and its opponent's pieces, also diagonally, sideways, forward and backward, provided there is an empty square directly behind each piece jumped over. During a jump the direction may be changed, where possible.
An opposing piece that is jumped over must be removed from the game.
Terrain
Towns and roads: An opposing piece standing on a road or in a town may be jumped over, but it may not be beaten (removed).
River: Jumping is not allowed in the river. Here a piece advances only one square at a time. Pieces may not jump over the river, out of the river, or along the river. A piece that jumps into the river is considered beaten (taken as a casualty of the battle).
Forest: Pieces may jump into the squares along the edge of the forest, but may not jump out of the forest. Jumping within the forest is not allowed.
Target towns (headquarters): A player may not place its own pieces on the enemy headquarters, but pieces may jump into and over it.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player has succeeded in occupying the enemy headquarters with two of its pieces.
