Be first to get all three of your color balls into Mr. Bucket.

Assembly

Mr. Bucket is shown fully assembled on page 2. Refer to this illustration as you assemble Mr. Bucket.

  1. Separate the two arms and nose. Discard the connecting plastic pieces.
  2. Attach the nose to Mr. Bucket as shown in Figure 1. Then place eye labels and eyebrow labels on Mr. Bucket as shown.
  3. Place three white labels and one round label on each arm as shown in Figure 2. Then attach a hand to each arm as shown in Figure 3.
    • Figure 1: Insert nose with small tab on top, large tab on bottom.
    • Figure 3: Press hand onto arm. Make sure hand tab slides into arm groove.
  4. Attach arms to both sides of Mr. Bucket as shown in Figure 4.
    • Figure 4: Insert arm marked "R" onto side of Mr. Bucket as shown. Do the same for other arm marked "L."
  5. Press loose end of handle onto Mr. Bucket as shown in Figure 5.

Insert Batteries

  1. Remove the screw from the battery compartment door located underneath Mr. Bucket. Then remove the door and insert two "C" size alkaline batteries as shown in Figure 6. Make sure you match up the (+) and (-) symbols. Then replace the door and the screw.
  2. Test the batteries by pressing the handle tab downward to the ON position as shown in Figure 7. If Mr. Bucket does not begin moving, waving his arms and making a ringing sound, the batteries might be weak or improperly installed. After testing, pull up on the handle to shut off Mr. Bucket.
    • Figure 7: Press down on handle tab for ON position. Lift up entire handle for OFF position.

IMPORTANT: Batteries may leak if improperly installed. Remove batteries when game will not be used for an extended period of time.

Get Mr. Bucket Ready!

Mr. Bucket works best on a hard floor. (Avoid carpeted areas.) Place all of the plastic balls nearby on the floor. Each player chooses a different color shovel and gathers around Mr. Bucket. If less than four children are playing, place unused shovels and matching color balls out of play.

Let's Play!

When everyone is ready, one player presses Mr. Bucket's handle tab downward to the ON position. Mr. Bucket will begin moving, jingling and circling around the floor.

Scoop Them Up!

Players must immediately try to scoop up a ball that matches their color shovel and quickly drop the ball into Mr. Bucket.

Note: Only pick up your own color ball. Remember to use your shovel, not your fingers!

Fill Him Up!

After you've dropped one ball into Mr. Bucket, run back and scoop up another matching color ball! You must hurry! Mr. Bucket will pop the balls back out of his mouth almost as fast as you drop them in! Players must keep scooping up their matching color balls and dropping them into Mr. Bucket.

Lift Him Up!

As soon as all three of your matching color balls are inside Mr. Bucket, quickly lift up the handle to stop him.

  • Figure 8: Lift up handle to stop Mr. Bucket.

Winning the Game

Be first to have all three of your matching color balls inside Mr. Bucket. Then lift up the handle to shut off Mr. Bucket. YOU WIN!
