Goal of the Game

On first glance the Murmel Monsters all look alike. But inside their bellies, coloured marbles roll around, and they are arranged differently in every monster. Whoever finds the sought-after monster first wins the card. Whoever first holds 5 monster cards is the winner of the game.

Components

  • 36 monster cards
  • 1 shaker can (1 lid, 1 bottom part, 7 marbles in 3 different colours)
  • 1 rulebook

Setup

Before the first game, carefully punch the monster cards out of the punch sheets. Assemble the shaker can from the bottom part, the 7 marbles and the lid. To do this, first put all the marbles into the bottom part. Then place the lid on top and press the two parts firmly together. It is best to stand the can on the table and press down with the palm of your hand onto the lid until the gap between bottom part and lid is closed. The shaker can then stays closed for good.

Now spread the monster cards out on the table so that all cards lie picture side up and are free to see. And then it can begin.

Gameplay

The youngest player takes the shaker can and shakes it well, so that the marbles get mixed up. Then place the shaker can on the table. Make sure the marbles are not lying on top of one another.

All players now try at the same time to find the monster card on which the marbles lie exactly as they are arranged in the shaker can. When you think you have found the matching card, slap it quickly with your hand. Your fellow players check whether it is the right card.

If you slapped the right card, you may place the monster card face up in front of you as a winning card, and then shake the shaker can.

If it is the wrong card, the search continues until one of you finds the right card. If the sought-after card already lies face up as a winning card in front of a fellow player, you may also slap that card. As a reward, the player receives any monster card from the middle. Winning cards always stay with the player who won them.

End of the Game

Whoever first wins 5 monster cards ends the game and is the winner of this round of play.
