Set It Up!

  1. Choose someone to read these rules out loud to all players.

  2. Give each player:

    • 5 × ₦1
    • 1 × ₦5
    • 2 × ₦10
    • 1 × ₦20
    • 1 × ₦50
    • 4 × ₦100
    • 2 × ₦500

(Total = ₦1500.) Keep the rest of the money in the box as the Bank.

  3. Shuffle the Force cards and place them facedown here.

  4. Shuffle the Smuggler's Cargo cards and place them facedown here.

  5. Choose someone to be Banker. The Banker's in charge of:

    • Auctions

The Banker can play too, but must keep their money separate from the Bank.

  6. Each player chooses a token and places it on GO.

  7. Put the dice by the gameboard.

Who goes first? Each player rolls both dice. The highest roller goes first.

Play!

How to Win

Move around the board buying as many Star Wars™ properties (Scenes, Ships, and Power Sources) as you can. The more you own, the more rent you'll collect! If you're the last player when all other players have gone bankrupt, you win!

On Your Turn

  1. Roll both dice.
  2. Move forward that number of spaces.
  3. Where did you land? Check THE BOARD SPACES section of this guide and follow the instructions.
  4. Your turn is over. The player on your left goes next.

Did you roll a double? The Force may be with you! Follow steps 2 and 3, then take another turn — provided you did not land yourself In Jail on your initial move!

Watch out! If you roll a double 3 times in a row, the Empire will take action by sending you directly to Jail!

Start Playing!

That's all you need to know, so get going! Look up the spaces as you land on them.

The Board Spaces

Property

There are three types of properties: Scenes, Ships, and Power Sources.

  • Rent goes up on each Scene as soon as you complete the set.
  • If you buy Fleets, rent goes up even more!
  • Later, you can upgrade to Bases!
  • Show your allegiance to either the Rebels or the Empire — regardless of which token you chose — by displaying the appropriate symbol when building Fleets and Bases. (See BUILDINGS for more info.)

Watch out! The owner must ask you for rent before the next player rolls the dice. If they don't ask, you don't have to pay!

Scenes

Unowned Scenes. When you land on a Scene that no one owns, either buy it or auction it.

  • Want to buy it? Pay the price on the board space and take the Title Deed card.
  • Don't want to buy it? Then the Banker must auction it. Bids start at ₦10. All players can bid.

Owned Scenes. When you land on a Scene that someone else owns, pay them the rent shown on the Scene's Title Deed card.

Collect color sets to build Fleets! You can't build Fleets on a Scene until you get a color set!

Example Title Deed card, Stormtroopers on the Trail:

Title DeedStormtroopers on the Trail
Rent₦6
Rent with color set₦12
Rent with 1 Fleet₦30
Rent with 2 Fleets₦90
Rent with 3 Fleets₦270
Rent with 4 Fleets₦400
Rent with Base₦550
Fleets cost₦50 each
Bases cost₦50 each (plus 4 Fleets)

Example Title Deed card, Journey in a Sandcrawler: the rent, color set, Fleet, and Base figures are the same as Stormtroopers on the Trail (Rent ₦6; with color set ₦12; 1 Fleet ₦30; 2 Fleets ₦90; 3 Fleets ₦270; 4 Fleets ₦400; Base ₦550; Fleets ₦50 each; Bases ₦50 each, plus 4 Fleets).

Example Title Deed card, Ambushed by Tusken Raiders:

Title DeedAmbushed by Tusken Raiders

Rent with color set₦16
Rent with 1 Fleet₦40
Rent with 2 Fleets₦100
Rent with 3 Fleets₦300
Rent with 4 Fleets₦450
Rent with Base₦600
Fleets cost₦50 each
Bases cost₦50 each (plus 4 Fleets)

Ships

Unowned Ships. When you land on a Ship that no one owns, either buy it or auction it.

  • Want to buy it? Pay the price on the board space and take the Title Deed card.
  • Don't want to buy it? Then the Banker must auction it. Bids start at ₦10. All players can bid.

Owned Ships. When you land on a Ship that someone else owns, pay them rent. Rent depends on how many Ships the owner has.

Ships1234
Rent₦25₦50₦100₦200

Example Ship card, Escape Pod (price ₦200): rent ₦25; if 2 Ships are owned ₦50; if 3 Ships are owned ₦100; if 4 Ships are owned ₦200.

Power Sources

Unowned Power Sources. When you land on a Power Source that no one owns, either buy it or auction it.

  • Want to buy it? Pay the price on the board space and take the Title Deed card.
  • Don't want to buy it? Then the Banker must auction it. Bids start at ₦10. All players can bid.

Owned Power Sources. When you land on a Power Source that someone else owns, pay them rent. Roll the dice again to decide rent. If the owner has 1 Power Source, rent is 4× the dice roll. If the owner has 2 Power Sources, rent is 10× the dice roll.

Example Power Source card, Tosche Station (price ₦150):

  • If one Power Source is owned, rent is 4 times amount shown on dice.
  • If both Power Sources are owned, rent is 10 times amount shown on dice.

Action Spaces

  • GO. If your move took you onto or past the GO space, collect ₦200 from the Bank.
  • The Force / Smuggler's Cargo. Take the top card from the matching pile and immediately do what it says. Return it to the bottom of the pile when done.
  • Imperial Tax / Bounty Collection. Pay the Bank the amount shown on the space.
  • Free Parking. Looks like you've found a quiet corner of the galaxy! Nothing happens here. Just wait until your next turn, then roll and move.
  • Just Visiting. Don't worry, you've avoided the wrath of the Empire and are not In Jail. Simply put your token in the Just Visiting section.
  • Go To Jail. You've displeased the Empire! Move your token to the In Jail space immediately! Do not collect ₦200 for passing GO. Your turn is then over. You can still collect rent, auction, buy Fleets and Bases, mortgage, and trade while you are In Jail.

How Do I Get Out of Jail?

You have 3 options:

  1. Pay ₦50 at the start of your next turn, then roll and move as normal.
  2. Use a Get Out of Jail Free card at the start of your next turn if you have one (or buy one from another player). Put the card at the bottom of the appropriate pile, then roll and move.
  3. Roll a double on your next turn. If you do, you're free to roam the galaxy again! Use the roll to move, and that's the end of your turn. You can use up to 3 turns to try for a double. If you don't throw a double by your third turn In Jail, pay ₦50 and use your last roll to move.

Buildings

Building Fleets

As soon as you get a color set, you can start buying Fleets (you don't have to wait for your turn) and showing your allegiance to either the Galactic Empire or Rebel Alliance.

  • Pay the Bank the Fleet cost price on the Title Deed card and place a Fleet on the Scene.
  • Fleets should be stacked one on top of the other, with the Empire or Rebel symbol faceup to show other players where your loyalties lie!
  • Build evenly. You cannot build a second Fleet on a Scene until you've built one on each Scene in its color set. You can only have 4 Fleets on a Scene.

Building Bases

Once you have 4 Fleets on all Scenes in a color set, you can pay to upgrade to a Base.

  • Pay the Bank the Base cost price on the Title Deed card, return all 4 Fleets to the Bank, and put a Base on the Scene.
  • You can only build 1 Base per Scene. You can't add any more Fleets.
  • Ensure that the Galactic Empire or Rebel Alliance symbol on your Base is facing outward so other players can see whose side you're on!

You cannot build on a Scene if any Scene in its color set is mortgaged.

Not Enough Buildings?

If multiple players want the last Fleet or Base, the Banker must auction it. Bids start at ₦10.

No buildings left? You can't buy any until someone sells theirs back.

Auctions

If you land on an unowned Scene, Ship, or Power Source and you don't want to buy it, the Banker must auction it.

  1. The Banker starts the auction by offering the space to everyone for ₦10.
  2. Anyone can increase the bid by as little as ₦1 (even the Banker and the player who originally landed on the space).
  3. The highest bidder wins the auction, pays the Bank, and takes the Title Deed card.

What if no one wants it? That's fine. No one pays anything.

Deals & Trades

You can buy, sell, or swap property with other players at any time.

You must sell all Fleets and Bases on a color set to the Bank before you can sell or trade a Scene. You cannot sell (or trade) Fleets or Bases to another player.

Property can be traded for cash, other property, and/or Get Out of Jail Free cards. The amount is decided by the players making the deal. Who knows, you might cut a better deal if a player shares your allegiance to either the Galactic Empire or Rebel Alliance!

Mortgaged property can be traded at any agreed price. The new owner must immediately either:

  • Repay the mortgage (pay the Bank the unmortgage cost). Or
  • Keep the mortgage (just pay the Bank 10% of the mortgage value now).

Help! I Can't Pay!

  1. Try to raise money. If you owe money and can't pay, try to raise money by selling buildings and/or mortgaging properties.

    • Selling Buildings. Sell Bases to the Bank for half the cost price and exchange them immediately for 4 Fleets. Sell Fleets to the Bank for half the cost price. Fleets must be sold evenly across the color set.
    • Mortgaging Property. To mortgage a property, you must first sell all buildings in its color set to the Bank at half their cost price. To mortgage, turn the Title Deed card facedown and collect the mortgage value on the back from the Bank. To repay a mortgage, pay the unmortgage cost to the Bank (mortgage value +10%), then turn the card faceup.

Rent cannot be collected on properties that are mortgaged. However, the increased rent level can be collected on the unmortgaged Scenes in a color set. The increased rent on unmortgaged Ships and Power Sources may be collected in the same way.

  2. If you're still in debt, you are bankrupt and out of the game!

    • Do you owe another player? Give them any Get Out of Jail Free cards and all your mortgaged properties. The new owner must immediately either:
      • Repay the mortgage (pay the Bank the unmortgage cost). Or
      • Keep the mortgage (just pay the Bank 10% of the mortgage value now).
    • Do you owe the Bank? Return all your properties to the Bank. Any mortgages are cancelled. All your properties must immediately be put up for auction. Return any Get Out of Jail Free cards to the bottom of the pile.

The remaining players keep playing until there is only one person left in the game — the winner!

Top Tips

Lending money between players, receiving cash for landing on Free Parking, and never auctioning properties are just some of the "house" rules that lengthen the game.

  • To keep your game short and sweet, don't use house rules!
  • Always auction when someone doesn't want to buy the property they've landed on.
  • Never loan money to other players, or make deals to not charge each other rent.
  • Never put cash in the center of the board; you don't get a bonus for landing on Free Parking.
