How to Play

  • Hand out LIFE POINTS to each player, depending on the amount of players:

    • 2 Players = 6 life points
    • 3-4 Players = 5 life points
    • 5-8 Players = 4 life points

For a 2 player game: remove all cards with * in the bottom right corner.

  • If this is your first game of MISDIRECTION, search for the SKELETON in the ENEMY DECK and place it in the middle of the table.

  • If this is not your first game, shuffle the ENEMY DECK and draw the top card, placing it in the middle of the table. This is the enemy for this game, place the rest of the ENEMY DECK away in the box, they won't be needed this game. All players should read the ENEMY carefully, as each enemy changes the gameplay.

  • Shuffle the ACTION CARD DECK and deal one card out to each player. Keep your card secret from other players. Place the remaining ACTION CARD DECK next to the active ENEMY CARD in the middle of the table.

  • The first player is determined by player who most recently went into a cave, discovered a treasure, woke a powerful enemy and betrayed their friends; otherwise choose any player to go first.

  • The first player picks up a card from the ACTION CARD DECK located in the middle of the table. The player then must play one card from their hand.

  • The player must READ THE CARD ALOUD while placing it down on the otherside of the ENEMY CARD in the middle of the table - this becomes the discard pile. You cannot pass your turn, you must pick-up and put-down on your turn.

  • If a player is reduced to 0 LIFE CUBES, they are dead and cannot participate anymore. They place the card in their hand at the bottom of the discard pile. The sole surviving player is the winner.

Reference

  • Play order is ALWAYS: pick-up card, play card, resolve played card, resolve effects.

  • If you run out of cards on the ACTION CARD DECK, all players lose ONE LIFE POINT and shuffle the discard pile and place it back on the play area.

  • If a player is forced to play a card out of turn, they must resolve the card they played, then pick-up a new card before play continues to the next player.

  • Some cards may have more than one action on it, resolve them in the order on the card.
