- 5 rule cards
How to Play
The game is played in a "competitive" mode, meaning individually (there are no teams).
First, make a pile of the 55 playing cards (face down).
The most talkative person starts. This player is called the "Mime Master".
The Mime Master's Role
The Mime Master draws a card from the pile and chooses one proposal without telling the others. The Mime Master faces the other players, so that everyone can see them.
Their role is to have all the other players mime the chosen proposal:
- Without giving the answer.
- Giving only instructions that describe positions, body movements, etc.
Example: to get players to guess "The Macarena", the Mime Master might say: "Extend your right arm in front of you, palm facing down, then your left arm, palm also facing down. Now turn your right arm in front of you, palm facing up..."
Under no circumstances may the Mime Master allude to the word on the card.
Each word is marked with its category (Action, Object, Expressions & Proverbs, etc.).
The Mime Master may decide:
- Either to give the word to the other players right at the start of the mime.
- Or to wait about twenty seconds: if nobody finds it, this may help them find it.
The Other Players' Role
The other players obey the Mime Master and perform the movements and positions that are indicated to them.
While miming, you of course have the right:
- To watch the other players: a neighbour's performance can help you!
- To make several proposals.
The first player to guess what is being mimed wins and becomes the new Mime Master!
- The winner takes the card in question, which lets them count the point won.
- They draw a new card to be guessed, while the previous Mime Master returns to their place.
If after about one minute nobody has found the answer, the Mime Master may choose another proposal from the card and start again.
End of the Game
The game continues until a player reaches:
- 5 points if there are 3 or 4 players.
- 4 points if there are between 5 and 7 players.
- 3 points if there are strictly more than 7 players.
