Game Overview
This card set varies your games of Poker. The basics and the goal of Texas Hold'em Poker remain the same.
To play you need a deck of playing cards and chips, which are not included in the box.
One player, for example the most experienced at poker, takes the Mexican deck. That player is the "Mexican" for the game. At the start of each hand, the Mexican turns over a Mexican card and reads it aloud. The card states the rules that change for that hand only. On the next hand a new Mexican card replaces it.
Basic Principles
The rules of Poker apply at all times, unless a Mexican card says otherwise.
All Mexican cards use the same vocabulary. The Lexicon below explains the terms.
Final Points
- Unless an exception applies, players make their final 5-card combination using their 2 cards in hand and the 5 community cards.
- Unless an exception applies, the small blind and the big blind must be paid.
- "Order of play" means either the player whose turn it is to bet under the Texas Hold'em rules, or, if there is no usual order for that hand, the player to the left of the dealer.
- Poker (5 identical cards) is the strongest combination in Poker. It ranks above the straight flush.
- For the final head-to-head, do not turn over any more Mexican cards. It is played only under the Texas Hold'em rules.
