Game Setup
- Place the board in the center of the play area.
- Shuffle the Fish Bone cards to create a deck and place it face down beside the board.
- Shuffle the Golden Butler cards and place them face down in the designated area on the board.
- Shuffle the Butler cards and create a face-down deck. Place it at the top of the board, then flip one card from the top of the deck and place it face up in its designated area.
- Players take one Cat card of their choice along with the corresponding Cat token. Place the Cat card in front of you and the Cat token face-up on its side (marked with the side icon). This area is referred to as your personal space.
- The player who last touched a cat becomes the starting player and takes all 4 Cat Dice.
Dice Sides Explanation
The Cat dice show five kinds of sides: Face, Belly, Tail, Back, Side.
Game Objective
Starting with the first player, each player takes a turn in clockwise order, taking one card per turn. Once the game ends, each player adds up their total score. The player with the highest score is the cat who has received the most love from the butler and wins the game as the most pampered cat.
How to Play
A player with 4 dice takes their turn. On their turn, they proceed through the following phases: [Trick], [Item Collecting], and [Passing the Turn].
1. Trick
Roll all 4 dice. If you wish to reroll, you may reroll fewer dice than the number you just rolled. (The cat's energy to perform tricks gradually decreases.) After rolling the dice, if there is a Butler card you can take, you may end the [Trick] phase. Alternatively, if you can no longer reroll any dice, the [Trick] phase also ends.
Example: "Shall I aim for 3 face sides?" / "It would be better to aim for 4 different sides." DODAM rerolled 2 of the 4 dice that she didn't like. Then, to change one of the face sides on the newly rolled 4 dice, they rerolled 1 die again.
2. Items Collecting
If the sides of the dice that came up during the [Trick] phase meet the conditions for collecting an item, take the corresponding Butler card and place it next to the matching icon on your character card in one of the four directions. If there is an empty space on the board, take a card from the top of the Butler card deck and place it face up in the empty space.
2-A. Item Collecting Conditions
You must meet both the board conditions and the card conditions.
Board Condition: Check the combination of the 4 dice.
- All sides must be different.
- Two pairs of identical faces.
- Three identical faces and one different face.
- All sides must be the same.
If the board conditions are met and there is an icon at the top of the Butler card in that position, you must also meet the conditions of that card. There are two types of icons.
Card Condition: Check the 4 dice sides.
- X Mark: That side must not appear on the 4 dice.
- Exclamation Mark (!): At least one of the 4 dice must show that side.
Example: Sunhyuk rolled 3 Side and 1 Tail during the Trick phase. The matching sides met the board condition and the Tail met the card condition, so he took the Butler card and placed it next to the food icon in his personal space.
If you cannot meet the conditions to take any card, you become a messy cat and will only receive a Fish Bone. Take one card from the Fish Bone deck and place it next to the food icon on your character card.
Example: Sunhyuk finished the Trick phase but had no Butler cards to take, so he took one Fish Bone card and placed it in his personal space.
3. Passing the Turn
Pass the 4 dice to the player sitting on your left and end your turn.
Repeat the above steps until the game end conditions are met.
Using the Cat Token
During your turn, before the [Trick] phase, if your Cat Token is side-up, you may flip it over to remove any number of face-up cards from the board. The removed cards go to the bottom of their respective decks. If there are empty spaces on the board, draw cards from the top of those decks to fill the spaces. Flipped tokens can be returned to their side-up face when you receive a Fish Bone card.
Game End
In a 2~3 player game, the game ends when all players have placed 6 cards in their personal space. In a 4-player game, the game ends when all players have placed 5 cards in their personal space.
Scoring
When the game ends, each player calculates their score based on the cards in their personal space.
- Add up all the points in the top right corner of the cards.
- Add 1 additional point for each icon that matches your Cat card. (This indicates items of your preference.)
- You get bonus points based on the number of different item icons collected: 1 icon gives 0 points, 2 icons give 1 point, 3 icons give 3 points, 4 icons give 5 points.
Item icons: Clothing, Food, Toys, Home.
Scoring summary: (1) card points; (2) matching Cat icon: 1 point each; (3) different item icons: 0/1/3/5.
Example: DODAM earned a total of 18 points: 13 from the cards, 2 for matching Cat icons, and 3 for 3 different icons.
The player with the highest score after tallying points wins.
If there is a tie, the player who received the most food cards wins. If that is also tied, each player rolls the dice, and the first to roll a Face wins.
In the world of cats, there is no such thing as a tie.
Advanced Rules
These are additional rules to be used once players are familiar with the game. Everyone's enthusiasm begins to rise, hoping to receive good items instead of Fish Bone cards.
Additional rules are added to the existing game mechanics. During the game setup, prepare the following items as well.
- Each player receives one Enthusiasm card face up for their corresponding Cat and places it in their personal space.
- Place the Cat token face up in the second slot of the Enthusiasm card.
- Place the Condition Tokens within everyone's reach. This area is referred to as the Supply.
- Turn the Fish Bone card deck face down.
Setup is complete. The basic rules remain the same, but [Using Cat Tokens] changes to [Using Enthusiasm].
1. Using Enthusiasm
During your turn, before the [Trick] phase, you may use your Enthusiasm as many times as you wish. For each Enthusiasm used, you can perform one of the following actions: (add a Condition Token, lock one die, or swap a card).
Each time you use an Enthusiasm, move the Cat token one space left on the Enthusiasm card. If all Enthusiasm is used, remove the token from the card. (Empty spaces indicate remaining Enthusiasm: 1, 2, or 3.)
1-A. Adding Condition Tokens
You may take a desired Condition Token from the Supply and place it on a card that is not the card at the position where all 4 sides are different. (This does not cover existing conditions.) To take this card, you must also meet the conditions of the Condition Token.
Additional Methods:
- You cannot add the same condition already on that card.
- You cannot add impossible conditions. Example: No Exclamation token on a Face X card, and you cannot place two Exclamation tokens in the same condition space.
- You can add more tokens to a card if they meet the conditions.
The Condition Token remains in effect as long as the card is not removed from that position.
If a player meets the conditions of a Condition Token and acquires the card, they flip the Condition Token and place it in their personal space. This token provides an additional 2 points at the end of the game.
1-B. Lock One Die
You can place one die on your desired face. This die does not need to be rolled.
1-C. Swap a Card
You may remove any number of face-up cards from the board. The removed cards go to the bottom of their respective decks. If there are empty spaces on the board, fill them with cards from the top of those decks. If you remove a card with a Condition Token, return the Condition Token to the Supply.
[Using Enthusiasm] must always be used before the [Trick] phase. If you have rolled the dice at least once, you cannot perform these actions.
2. Igniting Enthusiasm
When taking a Fish Bone card, reveal one from the deck and move the Cat token right by the number of fire icons. If there's no token on the Enthusiasm card, place it in the leftmost slot. If it's already in the rightmost slot, it stays there. (Max 3 Enthusiasm tokens.)
3. Game End
After totaling the scores from the base game, add 2 points for each Condition Token in your personal space.
Special Card Additional Rule
In the Advanced Rules, 4 Special Cards are added. Shuffle the cards with the (star) mark into the corresponding Butler deck. When obtained, their abilities activate. The game ends with 6 cards.
- Three fire icons: Gain 3 Enthusiasm tokens when you get a card. You can't exceed the max.
- Food icon : 1: When scoring, add 1 point for each Food icon you have collected.
- Fire icon : 1: When scoring, add 1 point for each remaining Enthusiasm on your Enthusiasm card.
- x2 Cat icon : 3: When scoring, add 3 points for every 2 matching Cat icons you have collected, even if they are not your own Cat icons.
#One-Bite Additional Rule
Take a bite of food to gain additional power. During the [Stunt] phase, for each food icon card in your personal area that you rotate 180 degrees, you may gain 1 additional die re-roll. You cannot exceed a maximum of 4 re-rolls through this effect. Cards that have already been rotated or fishbone cards with two fire icons cannot be used for this ability. This rule does not affect your score.
Example: DODAM rolled 3 dice. Now, they can re-roll up to 2 of them. By rotating two food cards in their personal area, DODAM increased the maximum number of dice they can re-roll to 4.
