Can I tow a Mech or Bomb that is directly in front of me?

No. An object directly ahead of your move is pushed, not towed. Moving into the space of a Mech or the Bomb always pushes it, unless it would be shoved off the board or into something immovable, in which case nobody moves and you stop as if you had hit a wall.
