What happens to Minions the Boss moves onto?

They are squashed dead and added to the Minion Kill tracker, which can earn Team Gears. This only happens in the space where he ends or moves through under his own movement; when he jumps next to a Mech, he only crushes Minions in the space where he lands, not along the way.
