Introduction

The box contains 7 different Mazescapes. Each one is independent of the others, but we advise you to start with no. 1, then explore them in order, to live the fullest experience possible.

Your journey into the heart of each Mazescape always starts on the Compass Rose, and your goal is to find your way to the Impossible Triangle. Once you have reached this place, you can move on to the next Mazescape.

In addition, each Mazescape offers secondary objectives of its own, such as finding or picking up objects. The secondary objectives of each Mazescape are detailed on its back.

Setup

You must play on a table or a flat surface. Unfold the Mazescape so that the first and last pages are in permanent contact with the table.

Use the cursor supplied in the box (or simply your finger). This cursor must NEVER leave the table. All games of Mazescape begin by placing the cursor on the Compass Rose.

You can fold and unfold the Mazescape along the predefined folds in order to open and close sections of it. You must not fold or unfold the section where the cursor is located.

On the last page of this booklet is a table allowing you to note which Mazescapes you have completed and the time spent solving them. Blank tables can be downloaded from the Mazescape page of the www.iello.com website.

Goal

Your goal is to reach the exit. In all Mazescapes, it is represented by the Impossible Triangle.

How to Move Through the Labyrinth

Only white paths can be used. It is not possible to jump from one path to another (remember that you must not lift the cursor from the paper). You can, however, go up and down stairs.

Some Mazescapes have closed doors. To pass through such doors, you must first have found and picked up the key of the corresponding colour. Use the table on the last page of this booklet to note the keys you have picked up (a key is considered picked up as soon as you pass the cursor over it).

Starting Over

If you think you are in a dead end, you can start over by placing yourself back on the Compass Rose. In this case, make sure to fold the Mazescape back according to the instructions shown on its back.

If you get lost in the labyrinth and need a little help to get out, you can scan, with your phone, the QR code printed on the back of the Mazescape in question. This code will lead you to a range of hints that should help you continue your exploration.

Exiting the Labyrinth

When you reach the Impossible Triangle, you escape from the labyrinth! You can then begin the next Mazescape.

To protect the Mazescapes from any damage, carefully follow the folding instructions shown on their back.

Secondary Objectives

Each Mazescape has specific secondary objectives. They are shown on its back. On the last page of this booklet, a table lets you track the completion of these objectives.

There are 2 types of secondary objectives:

  • Find: To complete this objective, you must move the cursor over the indicated element.
  • Pick up and carry: To complete this objective, you must first pick up the object (1), then carry it to its destination (2).
