Goal of the Game
The players compete to become "Master of Television". The "Master of Television" title is earned by answering questions correctly in all eight categories, with the CITAT category as the last category. The CITAT category is about which program a certain quote or expression comes from.
Setup
The players start with the 4 outer-circle fields on a test-pattern field of their choice. That test-pattern field then functions as the cover field ("Omslag").
Outer Circle
The categories in the outer circle are:
- Comedy
- Drama
- Crime
- Show
- Omslag (cover field)
Players move in any direction.
When a player lands on one of the four category fields (Comedy, Drama, Crime, Show), another player reads out a question from the corresponding category card. If the player answers correctly, he or she receives a flat screen in the matching colour, which is placed on the player's board. A player may go again ("slå igen") as long as he or she keeps answering correctly.
When a player has received the four flat screens of the outer circle, he or she moves on into the inner circle via one of the test-pattern fields.
Inner Circle
The categories in the inner circle are:
- Lifestyle
- On-Screen
- Off-Screen
- Citat
Players continue to collect flat screens. Players move in any direction in the inner circle, with one exception (see Citat below).
- Show: covers all the big and small shows that have been broadcast on our TV screens over the years.
- On-Screen: covers all the details one sees and hears on the TV screen.
- Off-Screen: covers everything that happens outside the screen, for example who is married to whom, gossip, and so on.
Citat
A player can only get a CITAT question when he or she has the other seven flat screens in place. Until then, the CITAT field works as a neutral field where no questions are asked, so the player jumps over that field.
Note on the card: If the CITAT questions are considered too difficult, the players may agree with the reader ("uppläsaren") that the player tells which character said the line or which program it comes from.
Not Covered by the Card
The card does not state an explicit end condition, a winner determination or a tie-break rule, and none is transcribed here.
