Hero Board

  • Name: Luke, the Lucky
  • Type: Human – Warrior
  • Starting Ability: see below.
  • Used Dice: six empty boxes along the bottom of the board, where spent Action Dice are placed.
  • Wound Track: a row of spaces showing a skull, then 1 to 6. The base rulebook places your Wound token on the "6" space at the start of the game.
  • Reference strip: a strip at the right edge of the board shows two Action Dice (the photo cuts off the first die face partly) with the result "Melee, Melee, Defense". This matches the base rulebook's Sword-and-Shield Fighting combo: a spent Melee die and a spent Defense die give you Melee, Melee, Defense.

Starting Ability

Luke's starting ability is printed on his Hero board as:

Cost: [?] + 1 gold coin

Effect: Reroll any unspent Action Dice of your choice.

"I trust Fate, and Fate trusts me!"

Transcription note: the cost box shows a question mark, not a die face. The base rulebook's Using Your Hero's Starting Ability section says a starting ability is usually used by docking a die on your Hero board (its example reads "Algus can dock any Action die"), so the [?] is read as that die. The printed photo does not spell this out in words.

Hero Cards

Luke has two Hero cards. Each card shows two abilities. Per the base rulebook's Leveling Up section, you gain the top ability of a card first, and the lower ability of that card only after another Level Up.

Hero Card 1

Luck Favors the Bold

Cost: dock a Melee die on this card.

Effect: gain 2 Melee symbols and 1 Defense symbol.

This ability has no REFRESH icon, so under the base rulebook's Dice Activated Abilities rule it can be used once per turn.

Watch It Played

Type: Ongoing effect (no cost).

Effect: Roll the extra Action die during your Dice Rolling phase.

The icon is a die. This is the same kind of effect as the base rulebook's Companions and Pets section (Greybark's "Wolf Companion" uses the same text): it gives you an extra pet Action die.

Hero Card 2

Fluke

Cost: dock a Step die on this card.

Effect: gain 1 Melee symbol and 3 gold.

This ability has no REFRESH icon, so under the base rulebook's Dice Activated Abilities rule it can be used once per turn.

Beginner's Luck

Cost: discard a Treasure Card.

Effect: cancel all Wounds you would take in this room.

This ability has a REFRESH icon (a circular arrow) in its lower right corner.

Transcription note: the base rulebook defines the REFRESH icon for Gold Activated Abilities, where it allows the ability to be used as many times per turn as you wish, paying the full cost each time. Beginner's Luck's cost is a Treasure Card rather than gold, and the base rulebook does not define that case. The icon is transcribed as printed; no further rule is added here.

Arcadia Quest Hero Card

Luke also has an Arcadia Quest Hero card (the components list "5 Arcadia Quest Hero Cards"). The photo shows only part of it:

  • Title: "Luke the Lucky"
  • Label: "Ability"
  • Ability name: "Beginner's Luck"
  • Icons: two small icons at the top of the card, [illegible]; one icon in the ability box, [illegible].
  • Ability text and quest text: [illegible]. The photo does not show them, so they are not transcribed.

Transcription note: the base rulebook does not describe the Arcadia Quest Hero Cards at all, so their rules text has to come from the card itself. This section should be completed from a clear image of the card.
