Components

The expansion contains the following components, as listed on the rules sheet.

  • 4 Heroes: Nick Fury, Sr., Quake, Maria Hill and Ronin (miniatures)
  • 1 Villain: Queen Veranke (miniature)
  • 4 Skrulls (miniatures)
  • 48 Hero cards (12 for each Hero)
  • 1 Equipment card
  • 12 Threat cards (6 for each Villain)
  • 2 Villain Dashboards
  • 24 Master Plan cards (12 for each Villain)
  • 16 Advanced Training cards
  • 4 Locations

Advanced Training Cards

If the Camp Hammond Location is in play, during setup, shuffle the Advanced Training cards and place them as a facedown deck within reach of the players.

When a Hero uses the Camp Hammond End of Turn effect, they draw the top 2 cards from the Advanced Training deck, keep 1, and place it faceup in front of them, putting the other at the bottom of the deck. If the Advanced Training deck ever runs out, shuffle any discarded cards to form a new deck. If none are available, Camp Hammond's effect can't be used.

Advanced Training cards are available to the Hero that draws them, but are not considered part of the Hero's hand or deck (they aren't discarded when taking damage, etc.).

If a Hero is KO'd, they must discard ALL of their Advanced Training cards.

Heroes with Advanced Training cards may use them during their turn, either before or after playing their Hero card, or when the trigger on the card has been met. There is no limit to the number of Advanced Training cards a Hero may have or to how many they can use during their turn.

Advanced Training cards are all single-use cards. When used, immediately apply the effect written on it. Then, discard the card.

Skrulls

Turn Sequence

When facing the Skrulls, the turn sequence may be different from the standard one:

  • In 4-Hero games, Heroes play 4 turns after each Villain turn until the Villain is Under Pressure. Then, they play 3 turns after each Villain turn.
  • In 3-Hero games, follow the standard turn order.
  • In 2-Hero games, Heroes always play 2 turns after each Villain turn, whether the Villain is Under Pressure or not.

Team vs Team Mode

When facing the Skrulls in Team vs Team mode, apply the following changes:

  • During Setup, the Team with the Initiative chooses both their starting Location and their Threat. The other Team starts from the opposite Location and chooses their Threat. Then, place the 4 Skrull game pieces and the 4 remaining Threats in each other Location.
  • Ignore the special Turn Sequence rule above. Play the game with the usual TvT turn sequence (or the Accelerated Villain one).
  • When a Team defeats a Skrull, they place 3 Health tokens on their side of the Damage dashboard. The Overkill rule only applies to the last defeated Skrull.
  • The Overflow effect only affects the Team with the Initiative.

Super Villain Mode

When using the Skrulls in Super Villain mode, if the Villain plays a Super Villain card that would make them gain any amount of Health, they place 1 Crisis token on the Villain dashboard instead. When any Skrull is about to be defeated, the player can discard 1 Crisis token from the Villain dashboard to ignore all the damage dealt to that Skrull.

Queen Veranke

Special Rule

When facing Queen Veranke, the Heroes must complete 2 Missions before they can damage her, as usual. HOWEVER, Queen Veranke cannot be damaged until the Clear Threats Mission is completed.

In case the Heroes complete the Rescue Civilians and Defeat Thugs Missions before completing the Clear Threats Mission, they cannot yet damage Queen Veranke, but each Hero draws 1 card as soon they complete the second Mission. In this case, they will not draw a card when they complete the Clear Threats Mission as the third Mission, as that will instead make Queen Veranke vulnerable to damage.

Team vs Team Mode

When facing Queen Veranke in Team vs Team mode, ignore the Special Rule above that requires Heroes to complete the Clear Threats Mission to damage her. A Team can deal damage to Queen Veranke once they complete any 2 Missions.
