Setup

Each player takes one Start card to begin their own orchard. Shuffle the Orchard cards to form a face-down draw pile, and turn a number of them face up to form the market that players draft from during the game. Give the Start player card to one player; that player goes first.

How to Play

Mango is played over several rounds. In a round, each player in turn takes 1 Orchard card from the market and adds it to their personal orchard.

An Orchard card must border at least 1 existing Orchard card already in your orchard, or it may partially cover 1 or more Orchard cards already there.

  • It is not allowed to completely cover a card with another card.
  • It is not allowed to lay a card across several other cards at once.
  • You may also not slide a card completely underneath another card.
  • The chosen card may be rotated before you place it.
  • You may cover multiple layers of cards as your orchard grows.

In this way, you try to build up groups of matching fruit that connect to an adjacent water droplet.

Once the market can no longer be replenished with Orchard cards from the draw pile, the game ends.

Scoring

A group of fruit scores when it is adjacent to a water droplet of the exact same value. A single group of fruit may not be scored more than once, no matter how large it grows afterward.

Play carefully: if you never manage to connect a group of fruit to a matching water droplet, that group is worth nothing at the end of the game.

The player with the most points wins the game.
