Components

The box contains 81 oval cards:

  • 54 egg cards
  • 18 action cards
  • 1 hen card
  • 8 cards with a white face, for individual design

Goal of the Game

Gather more points in your own container than the other players.

Setup

  • Each player receives 3 action cards and lays them face up in front of themselves. The remaining action cards are not used in the game.
  • Shuffle the egg cards and deal each player 3 cards, face down. The remaining egg cards form a draw deck; place it where every player can reach it.

How to Play

  • Each player has an invisible container in front of them, made up of 6 empty spaces. Up to 6 eggs can be gathered in it.
  • Egg cards have different point values (illustration 2).
  • Play proceeds in turns. The first player is the one who last ate eggs (in any form). Play continues clockwise.

Your Turn

In your turn you must perform ONE of two actions:

a) Place ONE egg from your hand into any container (your own or another player's), then draw a new card from the draw deck.

b) Use ONE available action card.

In your turn you may not pass or discard cards. You must always choose one of the two actions above: playing an egg or using an action card.

Whenever you play an egg from your hand, draw a card from the draw deck, so that you always have 3 egg cards in hand.

Action Cards

Move an Egg (illustration 3)

Move one egg from one container to another container, as long as the target container has free space. You may do this, for example, to move a low-point egg from your own container into someone else's, or to move a high-point egg from someone else's container into your own.

Swap Eggs (illustration 4)

Swap the places of 2 eggs from different containers. You may do this, for example, to swap ONE low-point egg from your own container with ONE high-point egg from another player's container.

Put to Sleep / Wake an Egg (illustration 5)

  • Put ONE chosen egg to sleep by turning its card face down (illustration 7), or
  • Wake ONE chosen egg by turning its card back face up.

A container may hold several sleeping eggs. An egg that is asleep (card face down) CANNOT be moved or swapped. This effect is useful for protecting high-point eggs in your own container, or for blocking low-point eggs in other players' containers.

Using an Action Card

After resolving the effect of an action card, turn it face down (illustration 8). You cannot use that card again until you have turned all of your action cards face up again.

If you use your last available action card (so that all of your action cards are face down), you must play an egg from your hand in your next turn. After drawing a new card to your hand, turn all of your action cards face up again. From the following turn onward, you may use them again.

Special Card: Hen (illustration 6)

  • There is only one hen card in the game.
  • If you have the hen among your 3 cards in hand, you may play it instead of an egg. You do not place the hen in a container.
  • Instead, when you play the hen, you may "move" any number of eggs from other players' containers into your own, as long as you have enough room for them. In this way you can gather the highest-point eggs into your container.
  • After playing the hen, remove its card from the game and draw a new card from the draw deck into your hand.

End of the Game

The game ends at the moment all containers are full.

Winner

Turn all eggs face up and count the points in each container. The player who has gathered the most points in their container wins.

In case of a tie, the tied players add to the value of their containers the values of the egg cards they still hold in hand.

Quick Game

The game follows the normal rules, but it ends at the moment any player gathers 6 eggs in their container.
