Goal
Before fleeing the office without getting noticed by your boss, you will have to hand your office mates some reports. Don't waste time, the longer you take, the angrier your boss will get.
Setup
Pick the level you want to play and place the Board with the exit facing north, and the chosen side up (either wood or carpet tiles). Place the Office Tiles in the middle.
The predetermined levels, from easiest to hardest, are: Tutorial, Level 1 (Internship), Level 2, Level 3 (Small Business), Level 4, Level 5 (Small Corporation), Level 6, Level 7 (LLC), Level 8, Level 9 (Transnational Corp.).
If you want to play in a random office, make a pile with the 6 Office Tiles with your chosen floor facing up and shuffle them (as you shuffle you can also rotate them). Place the tiles, one by one on the board, following numbered spaces 1 through 6 on the board. You have created your own random office! If the exit is blocked by any tile, rotate it until the exit is not blocked anymore.
Shuffle the Reports and place them left of the board, one next to the other, with the colors facing down. Place a Disable Token for each Report.
Shuffle the 5 Rewards and discard two. Place one reward below each report (3 in total).
Shuffle the Boss' actions and place them to the right of the board. Place the Anger Tracker below them.
Place the white player's pawn on the white icon of the board and the black boss's pawn on the black icon of the board. You are ready to play!
Start of the Game
Every round consists of 3 phases, in the following order:
Moving Phase
Move two spaces (no less). You can retrace your steps. You can't move diagonally, go through walls or go over your boss (if you know what I mean).
Chasing Phase
Move the Boss' Pawn one space towards yours. If you have any doubts, move according to the following order of priority: up, down, left, right.
Boss' Action Phase
Draw one of the Boss' Actions from the top of the deck and move the Boss' Pawn according to what the token indicates.
Boss' Anger Tracker (Anger Mgmt Problems)
Rounds will continue until you have gone through all of the Boss' Action Tokens. When this happens, you will shuffle the tokens again, placing them next to the board. This time, though, your boss will get angrier and move one extra space every time he moves towards you! Use the Anger Tracker and Anger Marker to keep track of how many spaces your boss should move. He can move up to three spaces.
Losing the Game
You will lose the game when your boss catches you empty handed, meaning you don't have at least one of the Reports with you.
The Office
Exit — Your goal is to arrive here after you have handed in your Reports. Your boss likes to smoke here too.
Your Desk — You start here every Monday, and yes, your desk is right next to the always-dirty bathroom.
Boss' Desk — It's where the Boss starts. Right next to his bathroom.
Bathroom — Your Boss has one and you have one. Each of you go there when you need to… you know, sh*t.
Printers — You need to go by the printers to get your Reports, but it is not necessary to end your turn in one of them to print, thank God.
Office Mates — You have to hand in one Report to each mate in order to be able to get out of the office. In exchange for this favor, they will not rat you out and they'll give you a reward.
Plant — It's a good place to hide. If you finish the turn in a plant, the boss will not move on his next Chasing Phase (but he will move according to his actions).
Coffee — It's the only thing that makes your life at the office bearable. When you go through a coffee you recover your steps (i.e.: move one space to get a coffee, then move two cells). You can have as many as you want, but you can't drink the same coffee twice in one turn.
Banana Peel — If you step on it, you lose one move, unless you start or finish the turn on it.
Boss Action Cards
These allow the Boss to move to different parts of the office right away. Don't cheat by taking a peek at the discard pile, you must remember the cards that have already been played!
Boss goes to [diamond desk / triangle desk / circle desk / person-shaped desk] (1 each) — Place your boss on the right desk.
Boss goes to the bathroom (x1) — Place the Boss in his bathroom.
Boss goes for a smoke (x2) — Place the Boss at the Exit.
Boss is nigh! (x2) — Boss moves the same way as in the Chasing Phase, depending on his anger tracker. He moves towards you even if you are on a plant!
Reports
As you go by a printer, turn one of the Reports to reveal the color. Place a Disable Token on the printer (you may not use this printer again). To hand in the Report, you must go by the same color or shape desk. When you've done this, take the Reward and place the Report north of the board.
You can have more than one Report in your hand before handing them in.
If your boss catches you with one or more reports in your hand, choose one and place it facing down left of the board. Take the Disabled Printer Token off the nearest printer to where you got caught (if two printers are at the same distance, choose the one you prefer). Place your peg on your desk and your boss' on his desk.
Rewards
You can use them only in the Moving Phase, either before, during, or after you move.
Coffee — It allows you to move two extra spaces. Careful, if you have three in one moving phase (including the ones already in the office), you will end your turn in the bathroom.
Whisky — You can move diagonally during your turn, but not when you are going through doors. If you mix it with coffee, the whisky effect wears out and you can't use it anymore.
Laxative — Place your pawn in the bathroom.
Boss' number — You make a false call to your boss' office. Place his pawn on his desk.
