Preparation

Players sit at opposite ends of the board. Lift the platform at each end and pull out the hidden treasure inventory in the base. Make sure your [unclear] [unclear] on your side. Lower the platform and turn the board around so that neither player knows the location of the treasures hidden under the board. The player rolling the highest number goes first.

Play

Begin each turn by placing the detector in the [unclear] on the corner of the board. Open the detector window so that the indicator is SILVER. Wherever the detector goes over a piece of treasure, it will turn RED and STAY red until it is [unclear] in the move shaft.

With the indicator on SILVER, CLOSE the window. [unclear] roll the die. Move as many squares as shown on the die or [unclear]. Holding the detector here, allow it to move [unclear] in any direction: forward, backward or sideways. The window must remain CLOSED until the end of your move.

At the end of your move, open the window and see if it has turned red. If the red shows, it means that a piece of treasure is hidden on one of the squares you passed over.

MOVE: Always hold the detector steady [unclear] and you will not get an accurate reading.

Marking Your Treasure Map

Now mark your treasure map. The squares on the map match the squares on the board. Circle all the squares you crossed as your [unclear] [unclear] on their board. If the detector did not register red, cross out all the squares you passed over.

During the game you are allowed to take a look with the window OPEN. Since this move could tell your opponent where a treasure is hidden, or might be [unclear] to work out where two treasures are hidden, be careful not to pass over those squares.

When you are sure that you've discovered exactly where the treasures are hidden, show your opponent your treasure map and lift up your side of the board to verify the locations. If you're wrong on any of the locations, your opponent automatically wins.
